  • PostgteSQL will not appear in the list of services, that is one of its benefits (though the main one is that it less inclined to corruption than Valentina was). It should appear in the list of processes, several times, while DS or DIM are running.

One last hting , is the weight maop brush ahnd the Geomitry editor tool the same thing now? Just wondering ... ? thanks

  • The tutorial that told you to look in the Services tab was probably written when Valentina was the database engine, so at the tiem it woul;d have been correct. It's just the location that has changed, ooking in the processes tab of Task Manager will show PostgreSQL.

The Geometry Editore is the old Polygon Group Editor - the name was changed as it now works on edges and vertices. It is used for selecting mesh and editing the grouping, the Node Weight Paint brush tool is for painting  weight maps (again, it's name changed to rflect added functions - it is now possible to edit nodes other than the bones on a figure, such as DForms and Push Modifiers).

ok thanks , i wasnt sure what was happening . yesterday i couldnt find the brush any where . i looke din the avaible pug in loaded and it was there. I tryed to reregister and i looked at the way the panes were and changed to a different lay out and ...boom there was the brush. ...is the lay out specific to the work your doing r was this just a glitch of some kind?...i also put into customer service for a refund cause i thoght the info was so out dated it wouldnt work at all as i couldnt confirm the cms was working.

this morning i think its ok and i was able to save, but have not gone all the way through.....could you point me to a tut that is more up to date?   the one i purchesed was print in 2012,,,,just a bit  old,,,any other means of getting the info ?  thanks and forget the refund thing. I was under the gun but it went to some one else.

  • The tool should always be available from the Tools menu (unless you are using the Full Service (Beta) layout, which is a cut-down, guided-workflow version), but whether it's on a toolbar will depend on the layout.
