Character(s) appear different from one computer to another

I set up a render box, since I have purchased Pascal Nvidia cards.  I copied over my library directories from the one computer over to the other.  The render box has my Maxwell Titan X cards in it which were in the main computer.  All the scenes I created with the main computer, then I opened them on the render computer.  There's some minor differences in the pose (collision where I don't have on the main comp) and face morphs look a little different.

I checked with both standard release 4.9.2.70 and Public Build 4.9.3.71.  The version doesn't make a difference, on the main comp it looks right regular or public build.  On the render comp it's wrong, regular or public build.  I would have had the content locations the same, but I don't have enough space on the C: partition on the render box.  I changed the location for "My Daz 3D Library" which is where DIM installs things by default.  When I load up scenes, it locates everything, I don't get any warnings about missing textures or items.

Main comp:

C:\Users\Me\Documents\Daz 3D\Studio\My Library

C:\Users\Public\Documents\My Daz 3D Library

Render comp:

C:\Users\Me\Documents\Daz 3D\Studio\My Library

D:\My Daz 3D Library

Seems the differences (minor differences in the pose (collision where I don't have on the main comp) and face morphs a little different) are only with Genesis 3 characters.  Not all.  Of the 4 I looked at, 2 were OK, 2 had the differences.  Both that had differences were custom in a way - one has ZBrush morph, the other is a figure migrated from V4 (face only).

In your libraries, check the data folder. There is an auto_adapted folder in there, this can hold information on older files (I think the ones that are Poser related).

Be sure those are copied across, if you're not using the same content folder. That can be an issue.

If everything is copied correctly, there won't be an issue, or shouldn't be.

Thanks - checked the auto_adapted folders, they matched.  I tried wiping them out and copying them over again, same results.

    Rebooted both boxes too.  frown

This is driving me nuts now.  I can't render on my main computer, and now I can't render on my render box either.

If the differences are related to morphs you created via GenX2 or GOZ then you might be missing some morph data files on the render computer.

Yes and no - the faces look different, and one was created with with the GenX2 with Genesis 3 addition.  The other was with ZBrush and GoZ.

The no - the hand placement is a little different, but both bodies are straight Genesis 3 with only Genesis 3 morphs applied.

Are the two libraries in the same relative order in the Content Directory Manager on both computers? Maybe if some files were installed in both libraries, but one version was different than the other, the order would make a difference.

You didn't mention Daz Connect Data. Do you have any of that installed, and if so is it also on both computers?

Are your preferences, draw settings, and render settings set the same on both computers? I'm not sure if anything there could cause the issues you are seeing, but it is something to check.

Both are in the same relative order, first is My Library, second My Daz 3D Library.

I have Daz Connect, only a few items were installed with it that aren't used in the scenes.  I have Daz Connect on the second, not sure how I'd sync that.

I'll have to check preferences, draw settings, and render settings.  I think they are the same, but files are copying I don't want to open DS now.

Both computers are Win 10 64bit, and I initially copied the files over with the regular GUI (Windows Explorer).  I wiped them out and am trying robocopy now, but this is slower.  It's gonna take a while.  frown

    ARGH!!!!!!!!!!   angry

This is really, really frustrating.  I blew 3K to have a render box that is ******** useless.  Now that my main comp has Pascal cards I can't render.

After the robocopy completed with no errors, verified auto_adapted is there, checked Preferences, Draw Settings, and Render settings it's all the same.  I re-installed one character from DIM.  I saved the pose on the main comp, then on the render box zeroed the figures and applied the pose again.  No change.  How it is messed up is exactly the same.

With the same content, it SHOULD be exactly the same - right?  What's going on here?

    I think I found a workaround!!!  smiley

I saved a Shaping Preset for the character on the original computer.  If I open the scene on the render comp, then apply the Shaping Preset it gets fixed.  Then I save it on that render comp & I can re-open it.

I tried many flavors of totally zeroing the figure then the shaping preset then the saved pose, but that doesn't seem to matter.  For some reason, it appears that only the morphs/shape are not correctly stored in the DUF file.

Of course, that does not bode well for anyone running into this after upgrading to a new computer, or if the computer crashes.
