My graphcard is nvidia 1070,8GB graphram.
In Daz Studio public build 4.9.3.71,Iray Render can't use GPU, the graph card is in render setting hardware list, but when checked this grapg card, render will quit.
the log:
2016-09-04 00:15:31.597 WARNING: dzneuraymgr.cpp(261): Iray ERROR - module:category(IRAY:RENDER): 1.0 IRAY rend error: Cannot render: found no usable devices.
2016-09-04 00:15:31.600 Iray Render error: Invalid parameters (NULL pointer).
What's wrong???

NVIDIA has still not provided a SDK for the DAZ People to implement.
You find parts of the Looong Story in this threat.

Thank you for this post. I recently upgraded my PC to have 2 - 1070 cards and was wondering why my renders took less than a second with no image.
Lmao it does support the 1070 as its a pascal card
But currently only the latest beta of DAZ Studio has the current Iray.
Hi there
You need latest beta of DS if you want to use yours Pascal GPU in DS,I think I'm running 4.9.3.128 and please install 373.06 drivers there if you don't have installed already
Hope this helps
Thanks,Jura
Where can you get the latest beta version? I only see 4.9.2.70 in the product library download settings. I'd really like to use my 10 series card. Also will the beta overwrite my old DAZ install (incase the new beta doesn't work for some reason)
You have to 'purchase' the beta, then you can see it in your Product Library. Buy it (free) here: http://www.daz3d.com/daz-studio-beta
To have it show up in DIM, you'll need to adjust your filters to also show "public build" items.
Beta and Release builds install separately, they do NOT overwrite each other. So your existing 4.9.2.70 install will NOT be overwritten by installing the Beta.
(you'll also have to configure the beta to point to your existing content directories, if they aren't in the default location...)
Thank you. Trying it now.
This is so embarassing. But i just now recognised that i had actually never used my GPU with my new machine. I had been dissapointed with the iray rendering times. And after fiddeling with the render settings, i unchecked cpu. And go figure, nothing rendered anymore. Never ever had i imagined that my GPU is actually too new to be supported! But thank god, after installing the beta, i am in render heaven now. I am rendering a 3000x1600 pic right now. And after only 20 mins running, it already looks way better then before after 5 hours!. xO So happy :)
This may be a stupid question but is a 1050 currently supported in Iray? Just about to purchase one but don't want to find I can't use it for rendering in Iray since I need to do a fair amount of rendering over the next little while!
In the Public Beta, not in the release version.
So none of the 10 series then? If it is working in Public Beta can an assumption be made that it will work once it becomes a general release? Don't want to buy a card that isn't going to work with Iray! Thanks.
Yes, the beta will eventually become the general release...and yes, once that happens, Iray will have the needed support for Pascal cards.
It's not a Studio issue, so much as it's the required support was not in the version of Iray bundled into Studio. That needed to come from Nvidia.
I need to buy a new PC and I am planning on getting a 1080 card. Glad I saw this... I am going to hold off if I can keep the old laptop alive a little longer... hopefully once the support is in then I can get the new machine.
Well the new 9.3 build is doing the same thing with my 980Ti..... 3 second black render when using GPU only. If I switch to the MUCH slower CPU only, it will render.
Kinda miffed at the moment, LOL
Check your driver version...this build of Iray has a higher minimum driver requirement. It's rendering fine on a 375.x driver version.
Well, the beta just rolled to release, so the new release (4.9.3) supports 1000-series cards now.
And as the above have stated, make sure you update your drivers, it won't work with 368 or older. I think 372 or better is needed.
I second what mjc1016 said. I had to update my drivers too for iray to work in the beta. Wishing you luck ItsTraveler!
All Nvidia says, at least that I could find easily, is 'Recent Nvidia driver'...
