Bryce Lightning FPS

Hi all. I'm an old hand at Bryce 5 but new to 7 and to Lightning AND to animation. I tried my hand at a small animation and all went well. I proudly considered myself worthy of Pixar until I refected it took me two hours to get a torus to bounce around and change colors lol. Then I hooked up lightning with my other computer and when I went to set up animation I could no longer set up the FPS, the box was actually gone. And I can't put in any start or end times at all. I highlight the double zeros and type a number for seconds and I just get bumped out of the box. It seems to be defaulting to some presets regarding fps and time as I can still create an animation, I just can't proscribe the time. Any ideas on what is wrong? Thanks in advance for any help!!
