Greetings,
Broad question... I'll give a broad answer. You put up links on a site you control that lead to an intermediate site (Commission Junction). When a customer clicks on your link, CJ drops a cookie on them to track how many folks you've referred to DAZ, and then redirects them onward to the page you're linking to on DAZ's site. DAZ also associates a cookie with them, when they land.
If that customer buys something (from a browser that has that cookie associated with it) in the next 30 days, you get 10% of it. If they sign up as a new user, you get 30% of whatever they buy for that first 30 days. They pay every month, and I think it's called 'in arrears', but specifically they don't send you money associated with a purchase until ~45 days after the purchase was made. So you'll see a balance accumulate, but it's tracked such that each month you'll get paid for the items that have 'locked', that is passed the 45 day period by the day that they send out payments.
You can't put affiliate links on a bunch of sites (deviantArt, other forums, other stores), and you can't use email or installed software to direct people to affiliate links, without some sort of explicit permission to do so. There's other minor caveats, and exceptions, but for the most part...that's about it.
You sign up for a CJ account, and join the DAZ affiliate program. They have recommended links and images and such, and you put those up on your own site. Folks click them, and then buy, and then you get paid 45-60 days later. You can do 'deep linking', where you link to a specific product, too.
Was there a particular piece you were curious about?

I was mainly wondering about Daz3d affilate program. I was a little distracted by some panthers when I posted this.
Daz Affiliate Program Does Not Accept Anyone
My last post on the unique way that the Daz Affiliate Program does not accept anyone was deleted. I haven't found anyone that works at Daz3d to answer any questions about it. Neither can I find anyone who is responsible or in charge of it.
Just received this. It is making me question how much money I will be prepared to spend here in the future.
Terribly disappointed that Daz does not seem to want to share the oppotunity. Also, I do not know where to question the decision.
Shame, great product, and great vendors.
You should probably just quit.
I don't know of any affiliate programs that reject partners. It's usually a sign up automated, and as long as you follow the TOS it's ok. I mean there is not a whole lot that can go wrong. The worst thing that can happen is that you don't make any money for them. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I looked up some reasons why affiliate applications get rejected. The number one reason on the list was limited traffic. This particular company wanted thousands of engaged visitors on a regular basis, or it would be a rejection from them. Another reason was adult content. I googled your name and adult content did come up, so that might also be why.
You say you don't know where to question the decision. Since Daz outsources the affiliate program, I would think it best to take it up with the people running it. You could always put in a ticket, but again, Daz outsources the program, so they don't make those decisions and the people running it are probably going to be the only people with a definitive answer for you.
As far as the adult content goes/ Then Daz3d sells a hell of a lot of it. A large percent of their profits will come from adult artists and wesite owners. Excuses and dual standards. I have decide to just tell my customers " Download the FREE software, and get your products from other vendors". I will give links to the other vendors and art sites instead od DS. I won't lose.
