daz search not finding items

All the search does is create a small yellow box saying what was put in the search! It doesn't actually search for anything. Studio is only seeing certain downloads. I've now about 5 items it can't find never mind load. How do I get it to find these other products which install "manager" downloaded and supposeldy installed!?

Which search - Content Library or Smart Content? Are you seeing files OK normally, when you go to a folder or category directly rather than using search?
Content Library. The search does'nt search but simply makes a box saying what was put in the search! The dir tree sees only certain of the installed products. Tho not before for whatever reason, it now sees a newly installed item - while not seeing a second newly installed item (Vladimir). All installed with download manager. It No Longer sees Blue Planet.... It's very quirky seeing only certain of the installed products so I'm wary of buying anything else.
What's the exact version of DS (e.g. 4.9.3.71)?

That's an old version, and had some issues with the content management system. The current release version is 4.9.2.70.
This, http://www.daz3d.com/daz-studio-beta? If so, can I install that without worrying about losing anything in the previous version? So it's not me but a glitch regarding the no search? Not sure why it sees some things and not others, all via download "manager".
Both the release version (4.9.2.70) and the Public beta are considerably newer than 4.9.0.63. Updating DS 4.9 should not affect the CMS, though you will need to reactivate the machine as the validation scheme was changed (the one in 4.9.0.63 was inclined to generate spurious system change messages).
Ok I got the latest and it sees more. It however still does not see Blue Planet. Something different about this? And whatever I type into the search, it simply makes the same yellow box with search term. I can only find something by traversing the tree.
Please post a screenshot of what you are seeing.
It never looks for anything now, just makes a box of what was put in search. Real problem is that certain things still won't show via expanded tree dir.
Does it work if you put the search string in quotes?
That's doing a database search (hence the DB in the folde rlabel). Try clicking the cylinder icon to the right of the box where you typed Blue Planet and selecting the file search option. It is possible that you are affected by one of the database bugs that was in 4.9.0.63 - if so opening a support ticket should get you a script to run that may fix it.

Wow, selecting file option closes the program!! Some bug, all of a sudden as it saw blue planet before.
Does it do that every time, or even most times? If so, please report it.
