could the genesis figure be rotated around a fixed axis rather than the pre-set one?

The preset has probably translated the figure using the Hip nod instead of the base node.

  • Are you talking about the location of the axis (in which case jestmart's answer applies) or the orientation (in which case you may want to change the coordinate system in the Tool Settings pane)?

  • thanx jestmart ,Richard Haseltine  for the reply. i`m talking about the orientation of the figure, when i rotate it, it rotates around the scene center as default, i needed to rotate it around a fixed axis that i choose, i`v found a way by creating a cylinder as the axis and parent the figure to it and this is doing the job, i was wondering if this could be done in a deferent way, i`v tried the tool setting pan but couldn't do it.

    any suggestions??

  • Right, that is not the orientation (which way the axis points) but the location - as Jestmart says, that's because the pose you are using has moved the fgiure using the hip which store psoes should not do (other than to adjust relative position in a group pose or to keep the figure on the floor). You can either use the hip bone to rotate, isntead of the figure node, or you can zero the hip's x and z translations and use the figure node to move it instead.

  • Richard Haseltine thanx alot, this really helped, using the hip bone to rotate, it worked great for me smileyyes
