ERC HELP NEEDED: Making a single slider for two properties

I'm trying to make a single control to open two halfs of a door.

The door is a Tri-ax object. "End Wall". It has a a bone "wall" which has two childs "Door - Left" and "Door-Right" (pic 1)

Door Left and Door Right have an Open slider. {pic 2)

When I try to follow the procedure I've seen, stting a control on End Wall, I get the error "unable to add property to End Wall node" (pic 3)

I'm pretty out of my depth here, so any help would be appreciated.

I think this video by Josh Darling will help you.

Likely not, because apparantly I created the property previously without meaning to, so the error was because I had already made it, apparantly.

So unless it's a video of me being stupid, might not help this time :D

But I'll definitly watch it for next time!

  • You can bake the ERC back to independent morphs - find the master morph in the Property Hierarchy, right-click on it, and bake ERC - then recreate the ERC as desired. We will, in future, be able to access this directly from the parameters pane according to the change log:

Added “ERC Bake (Delta Add, Add, Subtract)” and “ERC Bake to Play Range (Keyed)” actions to the Parameters pane Edit Mode context menu for properties

Sorry, Richard...I didn't understand a word of what you were saying :(

  • ERC Bake is the opposite of ERC Freeze - Freeze takes a bunch of settings and ties them to a single master control, bake takes the master control and frees the sub-settings so that they are just free values, not tied to the master. That allows you to adjust their values as desired, add in extra properties and so on, then redo the ERC Freeze. If you try redoing the ERC Freeze without baking you end up with two links, and get errors on loading.

AH.  The real problem was, I didn't know I had done the freeze in the first place.

Thanks for this, I keep getting dup errors all the time when doing multiple custom full-body morphs in the same figure!
