Why Bat thing? Because Bat Man and Man Bat were already taken. And people always point at this sort of stuff and say what is that thing!!!!

I love Halloween and had to do some spooky creature, this guy just seemed like the right fit.

So Happy Halloween! : )=

  • I wasn't clear from the text - are the feet and wings rigged or do they exclusively use morphs for posing?

They are rigged with move dials the Morphs are just there to make life easier.

I don't know how I missed this guy! He's perfect as Camazotz, the Bat God. Now I need some Mayan ruins to go with him.

Awesome work. I really am impressed by the poses.

A quick first take. Here comes The Bat Thing to the rescue! Or actually, you'll need to be rescued, here comes the Bat Thing, Camazotz, to snatch out your eyes!

Wow he looks great!  Love the wings

  • Ah, I got him.  Still haven't figured out quite what to do with him yet!  Luckily, I have a little time before Halloween to figure it out!  :)

Any chance the eyes are going to get fixed soon?

I picked him up too.  Was going to wait a bit but just couldn't resist.

I was unaware of any issue with  the eyes, but if they do not move with the head it may be they have become un-parented from the head. They are props and have no bones so they have to follow some part that has bones. If they are parented to the wrong bone they will move with it and not the head.  OK I think that should fix it for anyone having that issue. Also if you have to load them from the prop folder make sure the bat is selected before you load them as they are smart props and need to know where to parent to.

OK so update here. The eyes were given bones before the release. I was unaware of this, so sorry if I confused the heck out of you. There has been a Bug Report and I am confident it will be resolved. What I said would still work if they were props, but.... yeah. So sorry about that.

Hey John, I tried to do the export thing that you mentioned in PM, but couldn't quite figure out how to do it. So then I just made some primitive spheres for the eyes, same size as the original eyes, applied the eye materials, and then I parented them just slightly lower than the real eyes, and after some testing in diffferent poses, that seems to work. I leave both sets of eyeballs visible, and it covers the range of poses where the eyes might disappear. Just thought I would share that in case anyone else is having issues with it.
