nVidia Vision Glasses with Daz?

Just out of curiosity - because I'm getting one anyway - does anyone have nVidia Vision glasses and does it make Daz do anything special? Obviously once rendered - no. lol

I'm a big fan of Stereoscopic media, photos and video, and I have the Nvidia Vision glasses as well as the Red/Blue ones.  You can make render "pairs" in DS (or any 3D program really) by creating your own L/R eye camera rig (parent both cameras to a Null and move the Null around).  There's a free program called Stereo Maker you can find and download on the internet.  Its an image editor for image pairs with stereo preview.  A must have.

Things get more complicated if you're into post processing or stereo video.  If you Photoshop renders, now you're talking about Photoshoping "pairs" of images, meaning: you have to do the same exact thing to both L/R eye photos.  This usually means, little or no manual painting, and working with masks to isolate and tweak items before adjusting Bri Con Sat etc. in each photo.

For animations you need a video editor than can natively support Stereo.  Vegas Pro.  I've been using it for years, and works with stereo camcorders and paired cameras, can deshake stereo video, adjust Parallax, all the bells and whistles.

Learning how to do this stuff then doing it well... is an art form in itself.   If you get started you'll learn a lot.   Good luck

    does movies

and no D|S does not have a stereo viewport sadly, I'd settle for just the red/cyan type for opengl as it can be handy for setting stuff up in perspective without constantly dollying around.

nVidia's newest version of iRay supports Stereo VR.  Once DAZ gets the iRay upgrade patched in I'd expect that we will eventually get Stereo VR cameras to play with.

  • Thanks guys, I really appreciate the feedback. I've asked for the setup for my birthday (all I need is the glasses, everything else I'm good with)  so fingers crossed.

    Cheers folks!
