Rotating everything within a scene in a circular 180 Degrees possible?

Hi there,

Is it possible to flip everything within a scene in a circle rotation. Not just straight up rotating them without moving their location. Rotating everything within the scene intact. Keeping the front model in front, back model in back, and so on.

Or more simply, is there a way to move the direction the generic light(when no custom light is created) is coming from within the scene. (say it's coming from the west, can I switch it to come in the east?)

If you are talking about the default HDRI when using Iray...there are dome rotation controls in Render Settings > Environment > Dome Rotation.

You can literally "flip" content by rotating it to -100% on one of the scale axis. If you have a lot of items, you'd probably need to group them, to maintain the posistions.

But if I understand you correctly, you are looking for a way to change the direction of the default HDRI light. The direction of that light is predetermined by wherever the sun (or other lightsource) is on the HDRI image. So you'd have to move the HDRI image, which you can do in the REnder Settings, in the Environment settings.

Alternately, you could change to a different HDRI that shows light from the preferred side, or use one of the other settings like Sun&Sky.

If you're using Iray's Sun/Sky lighting, select everything in the scene and put it in a group (Create -> New group). Then you can Y-rotate the group and the lighting direction will change. Youcan also change the time of day in the render environment tab, and the lighting will track the sun's movement across the sky (which will also depend on latitude, time of year etc.)

If you ever want to rotate everything in the scene, make sure nothing's selected, create a new Group, and then drag everything into the Group in the Scene tab. Rotate the Group.
