  • Did youn install with the Install manager or Connect inside DS, or a mixture of both?

  • Hi Richard,

    I mean move all my library content to a different drive as it filling up my C: Drive?

  • Yes, I meant how did you install it where it is?

  • Hi Richard,

    I install it with Daz install manager default settings.....

  • OK, in that case before moving anything go to the Content Library pane and open its option menu, by clicking the lined button at the top corner or by right-clicking the tab, and select Content DB Maintenance - in that dialogue check Export User Data and then click Accept. That backs up the database, using relative paths so that you will be able to reimport it after moving everything.

    Now, close DS and move your content across.

    Relaunch DS and use Content Directory Manager, also from the Content Library option menu or from Edit>Preferences>Content Library, to change your content directories (you can also right-click on the existing directories, now empty, in the Content Library pane to remove them and then right-click on Daz Studio Formats/Poser Formats to add your new directories - the net result is the same. Finally reopen the Content DB Maintenance dialogue and this time select reimport metadata to reload your product details and base content details.

    Finally, in DIM click the gear icon at top-right to open its Preferences, go to the Installation tab, and update the directories there.

    You will also need to correct DIM's records of where content was installed.  When DIM installs a product, it creates a .dsx file in the ManifestFiles folder (I believe the default in Windows is "Users/Public/Documents/DazInstallManager/ManifestFiles") indicating where the content was installed.  There is a line in each .dsx which reads:

    <UserInstallPath VALUE="C:/Users/Public/Documents/My Daz 3D Library"/>

    with whatever path was used (note that it uses forward slashes instead of back slashes, regardless of Operating System).  The easiest way to change this path to the new location is using a text editor which can do a global replace over multiple files, such as Notepad++.  This way, if you need to uninstall or update a product, DIM knows where the files are.

  • Hi Guys,

    I followed your instructions that worked great. Thanks the lot Guys!!!
