If you want to apply a .jpg image to a surface, such as a flat plane primitive, then with the surface selection tool active select the surface.  In the Surfaces pane, click the dropdown arrow in front of the "Diffuse Color" parameter, then select Browse from the context menu, then browse to and double-click the image file you want.

Note that this will only work as expected if your surface is the same height & width of your image.  Of course you can apply your image to something other than a plane, however depending on how the object was mapped, it may distort or not be useable at all (read up on UV mapping for more info.)

Also note that it is possible for DAZ Studio to get confused about multiple files with the same name across sessions, to avoid this make sure the image path and filename combination starting at the point right below the mapped content folder it is in is unique.

I hope to add only one thing,, you can directly drug and drop file from your PC  file exploler,, without use Browse file from D^S UI , to surface tab> each shader parameter, image area..too.

(Usually diffuse, or base color for iray, it work for other map (opacity ect) too. (it is really quick, when you need to serch image which you want to apply)
