Characters and furniture?

Hi sorry if this is a silly question but is there a way to have a prop like a chair automatically snap to a character?

I loaded a chair and character then when I pressed a pose the character went flying off out of view!

Thanks.

That shouldn't happen.  The pose was created/saved incorrectly, so if it was one from the Daz store you should open a help ticket with Customer Service.  If it's from elsewhere, contact the creator/store and explain the problem.

In general, no there are not any included tools to snap an item or figure to a particular area.  You can go to the Parameters tab and zero out the XYZ translations manually to return it to the center or there are a couple of add-on scripts that are useful...

If the figure had been moved using the hip then the pose did what it was meant to do - if it had been moved using the figure node then the pose should have left that alone, and not translated the figure itself.

Parenting an item with Parent in Place off (unchecked in the Change Parent dialogue, if you are using that, or with Parent in Place unchecked in the Scene pane option menu, reached by clicking the lined button in the pane's top corner or by right-clicking the pane's tab) will snap the origin of the parented item to the origin of the new parent (and will zero any existing transforms on the item).
