Strange viewport problem.

Out of the blue yesterday an issue started happening for me where the viewport stutters and lags so much it's virtually unusable. Everything is slow to respond, trying to remove any camera or pose any figure results in massive lag spikes, hangs and delays.

Here's the really strange part. Sometimes loading a figure will fix it, and everything will be smooth. Deleting it or even turning it off in the scene list will return the major lag. Sometimes some figures will stop the lag but some won't, a hair model will, another hair model won't. A genesis figure won't fix anything, a genesis 3 figure will.

Loading old saved scenes mostly clears the lag too.

Things I've tried to fix the issue:

- Changing preferences,  enabling/disabling hardware anti-aliasing, pixel buffer, etc.

- Clearing dson cache

- Reinstalling

- Installing the beta and running that seperately, same issue

How much free space is there on your drives?

Which drive is the DAZ temp folder on?

If you have an old GPU, check it's not full of dust and that it's fan still works.

c: drive, 131gb space left on the drive

My GPUs are almost brand new and are performing fine during rendering and other things.

Besides if it were either drive or gpu related then why does the problem clear up when seemingly random objects are loaded into the scene?

Video card/specs and are the video drivers on auto-update?

Also, check Preferences > Display > Display Optimization

2 GTX 1080s. driver version 375.70 used for the past month without issue. No auto update.

Just to reiterate. Older scenes are fine. Very complex scenes are fine even with tons of objects loaded. New empty scenes will stutter badly. Old scenes that were fine with all objects deleted will stutter badly.

Loading an object into an empty scene will sometimes fix it. It seems random. Some objects and figures will, some won't. If a specfic object does fix it, then it will always fix it. But even making it invisible returns the unusable stutter and lag.

Edit: Turning on display optimisation to better or best makes the viewport lag and stutter even with the objects or figures that "fix" it loaded. Turning it back off returns the viewport to being smooth, but only if a "fix" object is present and visible.
