Need help transferring project from system to system with Content Gatherer

Hi all, I've been searching high and low for an answer to this and not having much luck so thought I'd ask directly on the forums.

I have a project that I'm working on, on one computer and I want to transfer the scene to a different computer as a dedicated rendering machine.

I have Content Gatherer and have followed the PDF manual for gathering and Zipping the scene files which works fine. But I can't figure out how to import those files and the scene into Daz on the second computer, when I load the scene file it says it can't find the content in the scene.

Could someone please give me a quick rundown on getting the scene files from Content Gatherer into Daz on the second computer? I feel like I'm close but just hitting that last hurdle.

I noticed there are people on the forums who use Content Gatherer for almost all their projects in this way, (create the scene on one computer and render on a different computer) if you could give me a quick rundown on how you make the process work it would be very much appreciated.

Many thanks

The zip-file should be sorted the same way as your other content folder. Thus, if you unzip it, it should create the "Content" ("My daz3d library") folder. You should be able to just move, or copy all the files in that folder, directly into your new location... The "My daz3d library", folder on the other computer, where you keep/install your content to.

There is no "import" function which daz will do for you. This is a manual operation. Video shows how to manually install things. (NOTE: You do NOT have to do each folder manually. You can select all of them at once, and drop them into the root folder. The root-folder being "My Daz3d Library", or whatever folder you store the content in.)

EG... In the zip, you may see [Content] or [My Daz3d Library]... (If not, than the zip itself is the content folder. The things inside would just have to go directly into [My Daz3D Library] folder in the new location.)

In that folder, you should see, for example... [Data], [Runtime], [Scenes] etc... the same files and folders you would normally find in your "My Daz3d Library" folder. Just copy those and paste them into the new "My Daz3d Library"... and select "Yes, replace files within existing folders", or/and "Yes, copy files into existing folders".

After adding content manually, you have to tell Daz to "Find it", before it can be used in Daz, using the "Content DB Maintnance -> Process Metadata Queue", and also "Scan known folders for files". That will let Daz know that you just added new content, so it can add it where it needs to go. (In the Smart Content and in your Content Library windows.) I also suggest doing "Content DB Maintnance -> Re-Process Metadata", which will add metadata from the "found files", if it was not setup in the Queue.

Welcome, for the reply and thank-you for joining the Daz community. (Just another user here, not an actual greeter. xD)
