When I export a scene with 2 or more models, genesis3, in it, with different character names and try to import them in cinema4d the models are grouped as one model.
I used the export / write groups / use figure name option. I tried all options but none of them work out right.
What can I do?

The obj exporter will export all visible items as a single obj. If you need separate items, you need to hide everything except one, export and then repeat for each of the others, hiding the previously exported item.
Too much work. There must be an other way.
Unfortunately, without script or plug in, default d|s exporter export all visible nodes (by "ignore invsible nodes") as one gathered obj.
though it seems same about most of aprication obj exporter, I feel. without batch script. Collada can not work for you?
About blender (import collada), collada file exported from D|S not merge as one . keep separate each nodes as child of group node.
Thanks guys. I found it. I knew it had to be simple.
Go to edit / figure/ scene identification change the node name to the current figure name and its done.
When you have two or more figures (genesis3) but different characters the node name is used to create a figure in .obj.
No plugin or script needed.
So you hoped to separate each Actorss as different name groups but not separate as each obj?
or your way can divide each figure as different obj ? (though I do not think so)
Yep. Each figure is now exported as a single polygon object but as one .obj file.
This I cam import in cinema4d very easy.
Hi, tonvogels_8ab33b1905
your question and way ,,actually cause me to re-think best way to make morphs of each Figure (or porp) in the one DS scene.
before, I usually have sent obj to blender, one by one, because I believed, blender can not keep vertex order, after merge as one obj.
if I use export option " as figure name", it make vertex group as each figure name.
About blender, I can not import the obj. file as separate,. though It can separate each mesh as each obj, but after that vertex order must corrupted.
then I can not use those obj to make morph.
But,,, today I play with each import option (blender again), then I happend to import scene.obj without separate. option.
then when I load the scene.obj in blender , it show me, all obj are gathered as one obj with each Figure name vertex group.
Usually I give up ,, because,, I thought it change vertex order,,and already change vertex count,,)when they gathered as one obj, to use it as ds morph target,,,.
but,,,, today I separate them by current vertex grouop( = separated by Figure name) in blender,, then tweak mesh,, and export it as morph target again ,,without much expectation.
Now,,, it seems work (that means,, after separete obj by Figure name veretx group,,) ,, then tweak mesh and export it,, it seems keep vertex order,,,as same as before..
It is really helpful for me,,,, I often hope to make morphs for bed or hair or figure body or clothing,,, now I can export scene as one obj, at same time from DS, and work in blender, to adjust each figure (though I need to separate,, then each figure lost vertex group(daz face group),,) to make morph for each parts, then re-adjust full scene,, , and re-export it as morph target,, ,,for each part..(though I need to import them one by one,, for morph loader,, about each separated figure,,) Thanks you much![smiley smiley](http://www.daz3d.com/forums/plugins/ckeditor/js/ckeditor/plugins/smiley/images/regular_smile.png)
