Empty folders in the Content Library

Is there any way to delete folders in the Catagories View that are empty, OTHER than individually? I have a bunch of empty folders that make it difficult to catagorize things. A lot of these things are actually installed, but somehow became uncatagorized. It's difficult to know if I have to catagorize it if the folder( empty ) is there.

I don't know if this is still true in 4.9, however in earlier versions at least I had to resort to categorizing a random item into every empty folder in order to keep them from being automatically erased. Presumably you could therefore back up your library, export it, reset it to erase it, then reimport it and I think that might erase them all.
(I was using the empty folders as notes that were immediately visible when going to that category, in case anybody was wondering.)
Sorry I didn't get back to you but, I ran into other problems that have to be dealt with first.
