It's rare for a Poser character to not import into D|S, though this applies to the geometry, rigging, and basic materials only. Obviously, any material that uses Poser's procedural shaders (i.e., more than just a texture map and simple coloring) may not cross over well. But for these you'd probably want to apply D|S-specific shaders anyway, either a 3DL or Iray shader, depending on the renderer you use.
I haven't specifally tried any of the new Poser 11 characters in D|S, but I've long used assets from previous versions of Poser and don't recall any issues. Most of the Poser 11 content is the same as previous versions, or it's just minor variations.
Poser weightmapped figures won't work properly in DS, the rigging doesn't transfer.
Which Poser figures included with the program are weight mapped?
I guess the easier question is...have the animals been updated?
The ones added in P9+, which means at least Paul and Pauline (P11), Rex and Roxie (P10), Alyson 2 and Ryan 2 (P9), the cartoon figures from P10 (Barney 2, Bertha 2, Edgar 2, Freddie, Ginger 2, Gramps2, Minnie2)...
So basically the last update on the animals was back in Poser 8?
I can't think of any new animals that come with the Poser software (except the human animals) that wouldn't work in DAZ STUDIO.... most are older models. The rigging should be okay...if they use Poser fur that won't work in DAZ but there are fur tools you can acquire in DAZ... you might want to tweak the shader surfaces or modify with Iray shaders.
