How to add third party products to smart pane?

I started with this video, which seems like a BIG pain the butt, and now all my skin textures are under the figure/character. Is there an easier way to add content to smart pane, or an easy way to find what you're looking for in terms of third party items? Getting really frustrated.

    Actually the Video show steps to make product meta-data. there is no another way to make "Product" meta-data.for each shop product.

     

    then If you just need to use smart content about each Assets with category (they are not gathered as one  product, and not work with compatiblity) without "product" base.

    you can set category for those assets for Smart content too. it may work when you use option (uncheck "Filter context". ) 

     

    All things (how you hope to manage your contents) is depend on you,,,  there are many user who have different view how to manage contents. then I can not push one way.

    But at first I make different root library for Each shop . before I did not,, but it is really useful to serch contents without merging daz products.

    then At least,, I make "product" directory, in contnt library>product about each prodcut.  then gather all assets (copy and paste) to it.

    after that you can find the product in smart content.>product  which gather all assets (you copy and paste) as one product.

    then if I find time to categorize, or add compatiblities ,, I do it..    (nowdays I only make perfect product data,, for some product which I really like about other shop product.)

    One thing the You tube do not discribe clear,, there is already script to add new "shop id" for your product data

    you can add shop id by sample script (need to edit )  discribed in "meta-data" section. 

     I tried it only one time to make another shop with try and erroer,, then did not clear remember all step,, but it worked, and

    when I set product, I have option for those shop ID arelady.

    I'm confused by what you said..really unhappy with Daz right now. I have so many products I just can't find right now. Sigh.

     actually how you plan to manage your third pirty content?  then I or another more kind  user may help you more.  my recommend way is already discribed..  if you hope to serch each file by" product ", you at least make it by your self for each installed package.  or you can add "category" to  gather each  package  too.  but about both case,, "add category" or  "add product"  depend on you.

    then if you can not clear about tool usage,, then discribe it,, (eg how to add category in content library? , or Is there easy way to add category? )  I do not hesitate to show you how I add category etc,, or how I  set "prodcut  for third pirty contents (but You tube already show it,, I think)

    I think the most of problem is caused by DAZ beautifully arranged documents which not offer clear stable guide  how to manage All contents for DS user.  and tool usage. (mainly CMS ,content library,,  .at last Smart content etc)
