Ive setup Iray server on google compute, it'll batch render, but i cannot get it to do the streaming rendering. Sure wish it would. lol
...you need a Quadro or Tesla GPU for streaming.
You mean the client who is streaming from the Iray server has to have a Quadro or Tesla GPU ??? Or you meant the server ?
Hi ;) I followed the tutorial but I get two error messages :
" GPU 1 (GeForce GTX 1080 Ti) with CUDA compute capability 6.1 cannot be used by iray." and "There is no GPU available to the iray renderer "
someone knows how to solve the problem please ? in advance thank you
edit :
fixed with the update but I don't see my "test1" folder in the server....
edit :
fix the problem
im having issues with this step - host 2 ( the slave is not connecting to the network )
Would like to know if this is working for anyone as of now (2019).
I am using a Trial to test things right now with a Titan X Pascal and it works for bridge connection in Daz 4.10. I needed to use Iray Server 2.43 on Windows and then update it to 2.50. I had started with Iray Server 2.53 but the bridge connection was too new for Daz 4.10 to connect. Probably something that will change in a future Daz update. Didn’t try streaming, wasn’t my main goal.
Just so you know, I was testing a VM with a GTX 1070 running Daz 4.10 assigning jobs to a separate server box (bare metal) running only iray server on Windows 10 with the latest non-beta Nvidia drivers & Windows 10 completely up to date.
Hy, can somebody explain what is this IRAY SERVER ? and for what i must pay 295$ ? I have take the TRY but when i go to start the jobs, it use my GPU and CPU... so i can easy render it on daz directly ! i have an 1080 TI 8700K ! what's helps ? for what we need to pay ? Thanks im really NOOB in this...
I have finally (after a days worth of frustration) gotten Iray Server up and running on my Ubuntu server and the benchmark has rendered well.
My workstation connects via the web browser just fine so I can communicate with the server and log in to see everything.
Problem is, Daz3D can't log into Iray Server in the bridge tab. The address is right, the login info is right, but all I get is "The connection failed. Please check the server address."
Iray Server version is the latest and updated one, 2.52.
Daz version is 4.10.0.123 Pro-64bit
I think I read somewhere that Daz can't bridge with the newer version of Iray Server or something, and I can't get a copy of the older versions as they only give you the newest for the trial version. {EDIT: two posts up was where I saw that, but in the ten tabs of forums I didn't see this was where I had seen it.}
What do I need to do to make this work?
Thanks,
Stu
Update: I have gotten an older version of Iray Server now (2.42) and have installed and run it. It tests fine in the web browser, and can render the benchmark, but still Daz 4.10.0.123 will not connect to it.
Iray Server is running in Ubuntu, but I can access it on my windows 7 machine via the network/web interface. All seems well until I actually try and use it. Cannot add the frame to the que at all.
Error message is "Bridge queue error: the connection failed, please check the address"
Firewall issue?
Could be but if so the firewall rules are hidden.
I can't see any rules that would interfere, just in case I had made new ones allowing Daz access.
WORKING!!!
Somehow unchecking the secure option has made it work. My test broom render must have swept some of the cobwebs out of my network cables.
Not sure if it's just that or something else I tried before but it's working now.
Where did you get the install for iray server? I can't find the trial anywhere.
Maybe you should look through this thread?
Even this si an older topic first of all thanks for the work done. However, it isnt working in Iray Server 3.0 anymore. I got it installed and running, but I cant render animations cause the DAZ Bridge doesnt support it and I dont think that DAZ will get it done shortly.
I have Iray server 3.0 too. What isn't working for you? Mine works for single frames (unless DS complains that it cannot connect to the server in which case I usually just have to try again), animations have never worked AFAIK. I submitted a feature request for that as well. Here's hopng our wish will be heard. :)
Does this still work? When I try to add the test1 "benchmark" to the queue I get a lot of these errors: "Only MDL shaders are supported, ignoring "mdl::daz_3d::irayubermaterial::iray_uber_unified" and "The material "xyz" is undefined. As found in scene element "xyz"". What am I doing wrong?
Edit: nevermind, figured it out
As a wanna be animator on the cheap I found this all interesting.
Its been around 5 years since this experiment, have there been any changes & or improvments on thte process since then?
Hi All,
I'm currently running on MacOS (Big Sur) and was considering getting an ubuntu box (from pogolinux) with an Nvidia RTX Graphics card (model TBD) to use as a standalone Iray Sever. Anybody out there do anything similar and have warnings, lessons, or good news to share?. It almost seems to be too simple (other than spending the money).
Thanks in advance.
Does DAZ3D support Animation Rendering in IRAY now? The problem so far was that we had to send frame by frame to the IRAY cloud. This was the main reason I deactivated my renderfarm a while ago to work with IRAY.
