Disappearing Cursor is Making Me Crazy

ARGH!
No, wait. I don't get to do that yet. Specs first:
Mac, 2GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
4GB Ram
OS X 10.8.2
ATI Radeon HD 2400 XT 128 MB
64-bit DAZ Studio 4.5.1.6
Logitech Performance MX Mouse.
(I also have an Intuos tablet, but I rarely use it inside of DAZ and keep it turned off unless I'm using it.)
There. Now. *cough* *ARGH!!!"
I load a moderate-to-large scene. Start moving things around. At some point the mouse cursor just..goes away. I can roughly track it around the UI because things light up as it passes over them. I can struggle with it briefly to save the file, by bumping against the Apple menu bar to reactivate it, but as soon as I move back over the DAZ UI it disappears again.
Sigh, save the file, restart DAZ, reload scene. Work another 5-10 minutes, aaaaand here we go again.
I know there's been at least one other post on this somewhere in the forums. I wish I had something to contribute, like a definite repro. But all I can bring is my whinging that the devs will spend some time tracking this for their next minor release. It is incredibly frustrating.
If there's any other info I can provide, or (please) a quicker workaround than saving/restarting/reloading files, please let me know at your convenience.
Thanks!

Gee...I didn't know the infamous ATI 'OpenGL" lag carried over to OSX, too...
Your best bet...make sure your drivers for your ATI are up to date. The best actual cure...ditch the ATI video card.
It happens to me too now and again ... and I am on a PC with a Nvidia card.
The only thing we have in common is the Intuos tablet (Intuos 3 in my case).
Wao,,, so it is not prolbem only for me,,
I use AMD radeon graphic card with windows 7. , before,, I thought it is caused by graphic card ^^;
of course I installed new version when AMD release it,, (auto update)
I sometimes need to shut down ds when it lose Cursor.
I serch menu by moving mouce in blind world,,,, then saved the scene,,, ^^;
and shut down ds then reopen,,, it is only way for me.
but I can not identify when it happen.
Nor can I - or I would have made a bug report.
But it simply seems to slip away with no predictable reason.
Kitakoredaz: do you have an Intuos too?
I have rolled back my nVidia driver 4x this last fortnight because the update kept stuffing up ALL my 3D programs and in Daz studio this cursor thing was one of the symptoms, finally disabled windows automatic update!!
I never used Windows automatic update - I let it tell me when there are new updates and then I decide which ones to download and install.
yes I bought pen tablet (but not wacom ,,I am so beginner,, so just buy pinceton tablets to try 2d ^^;)
but, I remember, before I get pentablet, sometimes ds lost cursor,,,
I can not clearly when I found this prolbem first,, I serched by google,
there was one report about ds 3, which had this problem,,,
now I have some prolbem when use poligon group editor to select poligons,
I often use invisible some surfafce gropu inviisible, then weight-map etc,,,
but if I toggle invisible mode ,, ds can not return to vislble about surface group.
so the part of figure can not visible.. how I check off or on each option again and again, to visible.
I may need to bug report,,, but I do not know if it is because my graphic card,,
This problem is not hardware related, it's the software bug thing. I don't know will the tech team trying to patch it on the software update. Since this problem happens rarely, only when you trying to drag the mouse rapidly and fast like rubber banding.
the problem happens very commonly when you work in scenes with a heavy polygon count or excessive memory consumption, it is not limited to trying to drag the mouse rapidly.
This issue is STILL happening in the latest version of Daz Studio 4.8 for Windows. Three years later and the issue has not been fixed?? It happens randomly and when it does the only solution I know of is to save my scene, quit Daz Studio, restart, reload. For a large scene this can take five minutes or more. Extremely frustrating and sours me on DS.
It still happens to me too.
Win7 nVidia geForce GTX 760
managing to find the viewport setting box for one or multiple views and clicking in it fixes it,
that can be fiddly but I leave the highlight function on which helps.
The problem is that it is not a repeatable problem - obviously nobody knows what is the source of it ... so hard to fix.
On my PC when my mouse pointer goes “poof”, I manoeuvre (invisible) to “Viewport options”, top right hand corner of the viewport, and left click, then it re-appears ... most of the time.
It still happen me too. before it happen when I connect pen pad often.
but nowdays I perfectly removed pen pad driver, and not connect it,
this problem still happen.
And the issue change the way.
before Kerya way work well, but at tthis time, I can not re-visible Mouse cursol.
at first cursol stop to move,(usually I rotate or pan scene view) not disappear.
then next it disappear and finally freeze my PC.
I can not return without shut down and re-boot my PC.
It happens to me when my brain is still in Blender mode and I hit the 'Esc' key when in the 3D view.
All I can do then is restart Studio.
This is still an issue in 4.9 apparently has it has just happened to me, first time ever. Have no idea what triggered it as I've been working in the same scene off and on for a few days. Just moved something around and then my cursor was gone. Had to use the invisible method of going to save the file and then again invisibly x out of the program. A bug lasting through 4 versions of a software has to be a first.
my problem too ;(
I have same in 4,9, Mac OS. No any solution yet?
Same for me with a brand new 4.9 installed from scratch yesterday 7/7/2016. I opened it up, loaded a basic G3F, was expanding the options and "poof".
My mouse has also disappeared from time to time, too. What I noticed is it is more likely to when doing an Iray render. I have a brand-spanking new machine, latest everything, new new new Alienware 17 with great graphics specs, Windows 10, DAZ Studio 4.9. A gift from my SO because he was tired of fixing/patching/kluging old stuff on the old machine. But I am using an old mouse, which works most of the time, except after I shut down, and then I must unplug it and replug it to work again when I start up again. I don't like using the touchpad, but it does work when the mouse cursor disappears. I'm inclined to think there is some mouse-related issues at least in my case, but I'm not a computer guru by any stretch of the imagination. I'm going to get a new mouse appropriate to the new machine, soon, ;-) Hopefully with the most compatible software and drivers and what not.
why cant daz give you a bigger dial in daz,its driving me nuts!
If you are using Windows and the current version of DS try adjusting the sytstem DPI setting - WIndows 10 right-click the desktop, select Display Settings, adjust the slider labelled Change the size of text, apps and other items. This is a stopgap, the ability to scale the UI is being worked on.
Like Digital_touch said, it happens to me everytime I clic and drag to fast. In my case I noticed it is always when I missclic the node of a morph dialer... I can clic somewhere on the apple bar to restore the cursor, but it only last for a minute or so... Ultimately I need to save, quit and reload Daz. Any other tips or quicker solution to the problem??
Not so happy to say this is still a bug in 4.10 (which should be 5 there's no such number as 4.10 guys you work in math you know this.) and it happens to me when I click more than one button on my gaming mouse. I don't want the issue fixed but how about a bring back the cursor workaround?
Maths has nothing to do with it - that isn't four point one as a decimal number with a trailing zero, it's four dot ten (dot zero dot one-hundred-and-twenty-three) as a series of numbers, of decreasing significance, separated by spacers. See https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Software_versioning
I have seen this problem reported many times over several years and versions but still no solution.
I searched for this problem and found this forum entry...exactly the same problem with me...I have the latest Daz 4.10 and all recent drivers for an NVid M2200 on a new laptop with updated drivers for Win 10...I use a Wacom Intuos 5 (but a normal mouse does the same thing reported here)...so, not Wacom probably...
It seems related to trying to scroll in and out of a scene using the right click button to speed things up...I'm surprised that Daz hasn't done something over all the years...but they seem unresponsive most of the time on any problem reported...terrible service and backup...
