Played with landscapes again. This one is a World Machine terrain, modified in Bryce TE. I call it Duneland.
Thanks Slepalex and Hansmar
adbc - thank you.
mermaid - thank you. Very nicely done landscape. Anaglyph came out well, too.
Hansmar - nice soft duneland.
mermaid : Nice realistic landscape and anaglyph.
Hansmar : Duneland is great.
Thanks Horo and Adbc
Hansmar - nice work with World Machine.
An alien artefact by MatCreator, the second instanced. Light and backdrop form the specular convolved 5D-City HDRI I made from a Bryce scene.
Beautiful render, Horo, awesome colors
More great work from people... Pre Christmas rush has kept me busy and away from the forum, but I've just played catch up and enjoyed seeing all your renders.
I reverted back to my comfort zone.... Product pic renders.
I picked this Gretsch model up (I thought it was cheap at £20) and worked on it in Bryce for a few days.
I took a lot of the component parts and reset their origin handle so that bits can be easily swivelled to the correct position, Made it left handed, redid all the materials, added the G Brand logo (as a Bump Map)... It's looking quite nice I think.
Dave - definitely awesome work on the materials and the text is great.
Thanks Horo... Here are my real ones... It helps to have actual ones around to look closely at.
Horo: Thanks. Great alien render, lovely light.
Mermaid, adbc: thanks.
Dave: Lovely guitars, the real ones too. Fantastic work on the model.
A toon render, Star Steeling Girl
Dave - beautiful guitars, the Bryce render is awesome
SRay - very nice unusual idea, it could have made a cool entry for the last challenge.
Horo : beautiful alien render, great light and colours.
Dave Savage : excellent work on the guitar. The real ones look awesome.
SRay : Lovely toon render.
mermaid - thank you.
Hansmar - thank you.
S Ray - beautiful high-contrast render and good idea. I agree with mermaid that this would have been a superb addition to the challenge In The Dark Of The Night.
adbc - thank you.
Another landscape render and the anaglyph.
S Ray: Very wonderful toon render.
Horo: really beautiful landscape render.
Thanks Hansmar, Mermaid, ADBC.
Horo: Great landscape but I worry those mountain top windmills may be a bit exposed in high winds.
I've been doing more work on the Gretsch model. I completely remodelled the knobs in Wings 3D (as all three knobs were saved as a single component) and I've put the correct 'G with Arrow' logo on them (as a bump map instead of into the mesh like the originals). I've now added the Gretsch logo to the scratchplate where it would be on a real one. And finally sorted out a massive "black hole" that was showing up on the Bigsby V plate which resulted in the H on the tremelo arm's logo being completely black regardless of material or lighting.
The only thing I can think that needs doing now is to remodel the two switches in Wings 3D as they too are a single component which isn't ideal.
Oh yes, of course, I've also taken the walnut finish off and reverted it to the more traditional orange stained wood.
Good job. Obviously, the musician is left-handed!
Thanks Alex, Yes, I certainly am.
Hansmar - thank you.
Dave - thank you. Really amazingly great guitar model.
Horo – awesome landscape and anaglyph
Dave – superb guitar render, love the mats and the lighting.
An anaglyph of a previous abstract render, using multi-replicated Tori and Spheres.
Horo : awesome landscape and anaglyph.
Dave Savage : just wow !
mermaid : very nice abstract anaglyph.
After quite some frustration with all the pieces I have added to the scene, I have decided to stop with this render. Although Bryce haven't crashed or run out of memory after added all the extras (which I am glad about) I have decided it's time to move on. A road piece I have added separately (curved road part) to the front right side is really adding to the frustration. One can see the black joint line. If I move it down only a small fraction, the grass pops through. If I move the rest of the roads which is one fixed model up a bit, it messes up the entire scene. Thus, just leaving it now as is.
EDIT: Now notice the one yellow car is hanging in the air. This is when I have used a lighter texture for road which was not visible on the 1st darker road texture.
Dave Savage: Fantastic!
Mermaid: Looks nice, even without 3D glasses
Launok: You did a very good job with that town!
Thanks Adbc and Hansmar for your comments
Launok - beautiful work on the little town.
mermaid - great anaglyph.
launok - very elaborate scene.
launok : very beautiful and detailed scene.
Essentially an experiment with grass made with a basic noise terrain after an idea of David Brinnen. At left it was a bit thin so I added a grass-tree. Below the grass is another terrain made from mounds for the stony shore. The trees are instanced BTO Autumn Ashes. Sky and ambient from a CSD-HDRI (clear sky dome). The grass was excluded from IB light and the HDRI doesn't cast shadows in order to have the render finished in good 2 hours instead of 39 hours.
Horo : very nice experiment, looks a bit like a painting. I like the grass.
Horo - beautiful render, I agree with Adbc more like a painting
