Addicted to Cuda!

Ok ...well, I got these 2 980 Ti's at 2816 CUDA each. Rendered really fast, much faster than my 970/780 ti combo. But, I noticed I had an extra unused PCIex slot. It was a bit of a squeeze, and I had to move a fan cable and add extra an extra power cable, but I was able to fit my 780 Ti (2880 CUDA) in the bottom slot. Figured it might just speed up smaller scene rendering. So now I'm working with 8512 CUDA! The result:
The Sickleyield benchmark finished at 1:35! That shaves 20 seconds off of the 980 Ti's alone!
And now, for the added bonus...I tried a large scene, nearly 4000 gig of VRAM. All cards ran it! I have no idea why, the capacty of the 780 Ti is 3 gig. But as per GPU-Z, it ran at 100 the enitre time!
The downside, is that the middle card runs just a little bit hot, around 83 c. Still within spec!
I'm pretty psyched right about now!

Stupid me! The numbers above are with OptiX Prime switched off! With it switched on, it's a BLISTERING 1:15!! I'm even more psyched! Used EVGA Precision X to limit the temp on the middle card to 76 C.
that's an awesome speed; only problem, is that soon it will seem slow. :)
Heh. Define slow.
8512 CUDA's? I'm jealous. ;)
For you, I can't; I can only define slow for me. It is the relation to the period of time that passes before I begin to think, "hurry up, I need it quickly (or now)."
I'm in heaven!
Hey, we've all been there! I finally did an Iray animation. With my previous set up, GTX 780 Ti/970, it took a couple of days for about 300 frames at 80 % convergence. I did a test render with my new set up of a frame for my next one, planning on 150 frames. Test scene took 4:30. I might be able to almost get it done in one day!
Good news then; good luck and happy rendering.
