Posing G3 figure with V4 skirt

In this case, I'm trying to pose a G3 female figure with a short V4 skirt.  The skirt fits nicely when standing; when I bend the thighs the skirt follows except in the middle . . . hence this weird stretch (attachment). Actually I've tried posing a short skirt like this multiple times . . . no matter which figure the skirt was designed for it seems I always get this stretch in the middle (i.e. skirt seems to be posing each thigh separately).  Suggestions? Obviously what I would like is for the entire hem of the skirt to move up uniformly.  I even tried not fitting the skirt to the figure and using a D-former . . . that too was a mess.

Did you set the item type as skirt in the AutoFit dialogue? If not it will just project the regular leg weights into the skirt, producing the effect you see.
