Can't turn off iray reflections

Hi...

I just bought "i13 On My Own Environment" i I want to remove the refñection of the walls and other other object. I turn to zero the value of "Glossy reflectivity" but it does not work. I'm rendering in 3Delight but with other scenes I never had this issue... is there any way to remove that reflection?

Thanks!

Turn the glossy layer weight to 0 and make sure there's no topcoat.  Can you screenshot the shader settings?

EDIT: Just saw you're using 3Delight -- there won't be a topcoat.  If you screenshot the shader, I can attempt to help.  :)

Basically, you can't...there is no way to adjust the Iray shader to render in 3Delight.

The more complex answer is that you need to manually convert each surface to a 3Delight material first.  Then pretty much redo every surface setting.  A good starting point would be to select all the surfaces and ctl (cmd on a Mac) click the omnifreaker UberSurface and select 'Ignore' in the pop up box.  That will leave most of the current image maps in place, you will need to activate and reinsert things like bump and normal maps.

Actually, I think if you turn the Glossy Layer Weight to 0, it won't be shiny in 3Delight.  When I create manual Z-depth maps for Iray scenes, I use AoA's Atmospheric Fog camera in 3Delight with the lights turned off.  The key to this working is that nothing can be specular or emissive, otherwise you'll see more than just the fog.  I will select every material in my scene and turn the glossy layer weight, translucency, refraction, top coat, metal flake, and emissive values in the shader to zero and they render flat in 3Delight.  I realized this was a LOT faster than converting to the UberSurface shader and adjusting there.

As noted, however, the Iray shader is not set up for any tweaking in 3Delight.

It may not be shiny...I can't check right now, but I wouldn't expect any kind of 'decent' results without manual conversion.

    Agreed.

Well Hello all. I have the same problem as Juanja mentioned above. However I AM using Iray in Daz Studio 4.9.3? And I CAN NOT seem to deminish or just flat out remove the gloss or glare thats in my seen. It's Baroque Grandeur and the whole thing has a gloss/shiney plastic/sheen to it. I know there is an IRAY shaders kit now out for this but I just simple want to get rid of all of the gloos/sheen at this point because I'm so over it.  Can anyone help a brother out lol.

    on surface,,
    change the option "Base Mixing"

that remove all reflection from selected surfaces, WEIGHTED = MAT

    see pic,,

    note:

don't know why, 99,9% of Iray scenes are almost all with reflection features
not only "prop" but also "characters"

Probably becuase everything in real life has some reflection.

  • I have this same issue whit the same environment as well. I was able to do as suggested by ctrl click on the uber shader, but it only worked on one wall and everything is still shiny. even by doing thos for each item seperatly, as well as with everything selected. Any ideas here?
