thanks Phil, the pale sun is still too intense but it's needed to sharpen and highlight foliage at a distance almost as an human eye; this is one of the limits of bias whereas unbiased engines shine smiley

wanna try with a bulb and a bit of range falloff

I've been have a lot of fun with 100% range falloff, and then adjusting the range to taste.

  • working on some oak trees.

you can make trees with roots in carrara by:

    1. make a plant.

    2. copy paste it.

    3. Z flip the copy.

    4. remove leaves from copy.

    5. trunk length 0 in copy.

Yes! And building a tree from scratch to be used as roots can be fun too!

I get Bobcats nesting in mine. As incredibly beautiful as they are, they still send chills of death up the spine! Not very big, as far as big goes, but add their size to the fact that they are a wild Cat... yeah... death! They are SO beautiful, though!

wow you can keep those - we have an expression in Oz. Wombats eat, roots and leaves.... That was what Wendy was referencing. ;) But seriously those roots look great

just wanted to share this use for Philemeno's hair plug in from the other thread - you can make grass with hair on a terrain then convert it and use it as the base for a surface replicator (cant use hair for that apparently?????)

I replicated the leaves and flowers

on two lots of converted hair of different lengths

    iit's a 2400 pixel image

Thanks, Phil.  Plan to use it as a generic background for outdoor scenes, as per your snowy fantasy scene in the first tutorial series.

Maybe Vicky in a meadow with a rifle, VIAMWAR.
