...Happy Christmas to all. Yeah an old card, but the spirit is what's important.

Enjoying a nice quiet evening, noshing on some Dorset Red and sipping Kuskovac while playing with a few of my new toys.

Working on the Teens5 Leela, refining details with old drawings and sketches I have. Tomorrow will be finishing the basic setup of the workstation and then begin installing all my CG apps, plugins & content.

Large extended family, two breakfasts, two lunches, one dinner. Staying home doesn't work, people bring their own food :)

All quiet here under a bright moon riding high in a cloudless indigo sky. Glad I bought into the family Christmas thing, don't get to see everybody that often. But don't think I'll be eating again for a while - must be worse in a cold climate at least I could stick with mostly salad :)

    Merry Christmas Day :)

    Jack Frost is nipping today.

i spent most of last night running between the save point in Balamb hotel and playing cards with the locals.

hoping Santa found homes for the misfit toys. the Charlie -in-the-box, choo-choo with square wheels, elefant with pokadots, plane that swims.

i ate my special christmas breakfast yesterday, nothing today but oatmeal. it's dinosaur oatmeal, so i guess its special.

    Merry Christmas :cheese:

Warm and windy here, Jack Frost left town for the holidays - it's 62f! :bug:

Sipping coffee and nibbling on my sausage/egg/jalapeno sauce scramble, listening to the free Cristmas Sampler Amazon had on their MP3 site. Very relaxing! :)

I hope everyone has/had a wonderful Christmas, and best wishes for a happy and prosperous New Year! :cheese:

Complaint: Warm in Tennessee for wintertime today. 50% chance of rain this afternoon.
I'm dreaming of a wet Christmas. Meh, not crazy about snow these days, just makes it more dangerous to travel and knocks out the electricity. Bah, Humbug.
Non-complaint: Had a nice breakfast at the Huddle House. Sausage patties, bacon, scrambled eggs, gravy and biscuits, and hash browns. Full now...and sleepy.

Complaint: Must watch for BAD weather all day on Christmas Day. I think Alabama is on the Naughty List. Bummer.

Merry Ho Ho to those in my Time Zones, Happy Holidays to all others.

Where the hell have I been?

If you must know, the wife and I, along with Mom-in-law, have been moving to another house. I had no idea my back, arms, legs and pretty much everything else could welcome me with such excruciating pain. We even paid movers to handle all of the the large items and I still feel like I got run over by a semi or plowed into by a train. Anyone live in or around the Kansas City area, we still have plenty of boxes to bring over. What's even worse is the cold ass weather. The wind is blowing frigid arctic air in around a thousand mph. It feels like 200 degrees below freezing. Any takers on helping us. Hell if you can afford it, I'll take anyone's help from anywhere in the world that has at least the use of one arm, able to crawl or at least roll while pushing or dragging a box. I know you are out there. Please help me.

I would love to help you but the Doc says my weight limit is 10 lbs. It might be a bit before I can fly in, the Airport here is slammed this time of year. Tripod Jeffro help offered, but I think your better off without it.

I heard that there is some fog in or around Birmingham, Alabama. I think the big storms are going to arrive in the afternoon after they move through Louisiana and Mississippi.

Happy Holidays, Happy hanukkah, Happy Kwanza, Happy Boxing Day everyone..

Okay Jader, what or who is Tripod Jeffro? Is that a 3-legged dog or something?

Must leave, pack and haul more boxes this way. All have a wonderful Dazmas day. Well maybe I'll shop a bit.

Ha, too bad I'm not nearer... I'm the official mover of all known acquaintances, friends relative and and their pets... I have probably moved more people than Amtrak and the San Andreas fault combined... and I have lots of funny stories about it too (you find out a lot about people when you help them move)... (like for example "why do you have a taxidermied penguin wearing a leather mask and a mini skirt, in your bed room closet?")...
About a month ago my friend asked me to help him move a "small" piano... He never measured it, and only guessed at the weight and dimensions... (none of which I was aware of, since he normally doesn't do that)... Somehow we did it in one trip without sawing it in half or destroying it, and I'm truly amazed it fit in his Yukon along with Him, Me, his wife and two small kids (he brought the family along to say "thanks for the piano", to the people who were giving it to them)... I later found out it weighs close to 450 lbs... (the piano... not his family).
I'd take you up on that if I lived close enough, (I'm in Long Island, NY).
Some people like the challenge of Rubik's cube or climbing the sheer face of a 200 ft cliff... I on the other hand, seem to be drawn towards fitting a studio apartment into a RAV4 or dragging refrigerators out of still flooding basements...
As much as I tease friends about their poorly planned moves, nothing compares to what I used encounter when I was an "Art Handler" (AKA- art MOVER)... But on the up side I got to climb onto ledges in fancy NYC apartments, use "secret passages" in famous buildings and ride on top of elevators in 40 or 50 story hi-rises... Fun stuff. Low paying, thankless- fun stuff.
But, that is no consolation to you... the only help I can offer is if you can afford them, get lots of Dollys (Wheeled platforms, not small human female replicas) (then again I did once have "Annie"... eyeless, bald doll who used to be tied to the bumper of every U-haul we every rented... someone crushed her against a loading dock and she ended up as just this disembodied head on a string)...(there is an awesome story of moving a friend during a tropical storm, with Annie's head "floating" behind my 72' Catalina passing a station wagon full of freaked out little kids who could not see the string). Get a bunch of cheap ones (if you have a harbor freight near you, you can pick them up for under $15 apiece, sometimes $8 if you have a coupon)... go to home depot and buy a few 2'x2' plywood squares and screw them to the dollies, it makes them stronger and more stable and makes it easier to use two on big things... also, if you don't have one, pick up one of those handtrucks that can be laid down and rolled horizontally, you can get those for $40- $50 at Harbor freight... I wouldn't expect them to last 30 years, but for a move or two, they are real back savers.
Anyway, good luck and merry Hanukwanzimas!

My real name is Jeff which I post many times, but most just know me as Jade, I'm a southern boy so I get called Jeffro many times. I'm a cane type person thus the tripod part. The health issues call for the 10lb limit and my endurance is a joke, can we stop every ten min's and let me rest a few hours? I'm still game for a nice trip.

...could use a bit of that today, Family is all spread out on the other side of the country though, the closest being some 1,800 miles away.

No food in the flat except for crisps and other snacks as the fridge is broke and the new one won't arrive until tomorrow. Nothing in the neighborhood open save for the cafe I am at (they only have coffee, tea, & pastries) a convenience store ("nuk-em burritos" don't quite cut it), and of course, a couple pubs (ale may have a "comforting factor" but it is no substitute for good solid food). Don't feel like going into town, that costs 5$ in bus fare and involves long wait times (in the pouring rain we have today) because of holiday schedules. The only places that will probably be open anyway are more pubs and restaurants in the big hotels, the latter of course being notoriously expensive for what you get and not always that good.

Someone suggested Chinese (ah yes the old "Christmas Story" scene) but the one we had in the neighbourhood closed in summer and again, it would require taking the bus (or a very long walk) to get to another one.

...and top things off, as I went to post this, I was logged out of the forums by the Magento Grinch.

...in the words of the immortal Charlie Brown:

    ...oh good grief!

Lol, I'm sorry. Sometimes you have to be careful as to what you say in a forum. You never know if a person is joking or serious and sometimes things are taken the wrong way. I did not realize your name was Jeff even though I may have seen it over and over again. I'll drop the r from Jader although I think it sounds cool. With the way I have been walking lately from the move, I may need a third leg soon enough. I should have dished out a few hundred more dollars and let the movers do more work, it would have been worth it. Until we chat again,

    Roy

My last (I hope) move was 200 miles so I had to pay the moving guys a 4 figure sum to get our stuff up here, but I have to admit it was the most painless move we have made (apart from the screams from my purse at paying over the money)

22 Hours of rendering and iz finished. Some post work to brighten it up a tad, some additional blurring to cover what Vue wasn't able to (I'll never understand Vue's DoF ^_^; ), and a bit of mist to hide a bit of the ugly underbrush.

I did add some bloodz to it using a modified default Chalk brush, but think I'll upload two versions of it on DA - one with and one without =3

*edit* Eh forget it I'm not posting the blood one here. If anyone wants to see it (like he who suggested it ^^; ) send me a PM and I'll post it there. I don't want to risk getting it deleted like my last image with blood did =P

...well was hoping to post the latest update of my Teen5 Leela (with straightened teeth) but even though I updated 4.5 and the Genesis Essentials, the mapping issue is still there when I reopen a file or reload a character set. Addressed this in the N & B forum again.

Kind of reaching the end of the rope with this. Seems I only get one shot to work on a character or scene so I almost see not point in saving anything when I'm done. Kind of defeats one of the main purposes of the software as well as my enthusiasm for this.

@Rezca: very nice! But that's a llloonngggg render... :bug:

Potatoes in butter, dill, and roasted garlic seasoned salt done and put up. Probably eat some tomorrow and some later on this week, I've already ODed on starch (made hash browns with hot jalapeno sauce). :ahhh: It'll be green beans in mustard sauce with the hickory-smoked ham.

2 hours until the ham goes into the oven, wheeeeeeeeee! :) Dinner about 2 hours after than. :)

Note: installing my Daz content is like eating a packed bowl of rice. It stays 1/2 finished a LONG time as the bits underneath unpack! :ahhh: :gulp: My runtimes total 78GB now and I still have 11GB of content left to install. Aaarrrrgghhhhh! :ahhh: :ahhh: :gulp:

I hope everyone is havng a great day! :cheese: Santa didn't bring me my quad-core 32GB rendermonster, all I got was a note saying "Ditch the milk next year and leave some vodka". :bug: :bug:

Love the render! I am finding it very useful as a stress reducer. You can can try it too.
First, think of your least favorite person.
Now imagine those legs belong to that person.

Feel the tension flowing out of your body?
    Repeat as necessary.

Thank you for sharing, Rezca. :cheese:

I dont have the Teens but you should have under Surfaces when Genesis is selected the OPTION to select the proper UV set for the figure. I have noticed that lots of my Saved files revert back to the Default V4 UV when loaded. I just switch the UV to the proper figure again and keep on going. Try Locking the UV setting, before you Save your Scene file next time.

Complaint: Misread the BOGO sale as BOZO.
    Now I'm feeling oddly disappointed.

Secondary Complaint: Isn't there a letter missing? Shouldn't it be BOGOF?
After all, it's Buy One Get One Free.
Buy One Get One would just be a normal transaction.
BOGT or Buy One Get Two would also be a better description of the sale. Or BTFTPOO, Buy Two For The Price Of One.

As for the big hair and winds, everyone please stay safe.

...hmmm, based what has been going on as of late how about "BOG3WMGBDISBIF' (Buy One Get 3 With Magento Glitch But Do It Soon Before It's Fixed)?

Of course anything ending in "POO" is appropriate considering the way the store is working these days.
