(minor) what does "Enable IK" mean?

What does "Enable IK" or "1K" - can't tell - mean... see attached screenshot.
I have been sending stuff back and forth from Hexagon to DAZ Studio, and looking at the variables and features. I think I'm getting comfortable with Group and Weld, but when I try to rename my objects and their disassociated parts everything seems to eventually revert back to "Form0" and "Curve0" and so on.

If I remember correctly it has to do with the bone structure and how the bones work together - If you select a finger and move it to the right the whole arm/body will move with it.
Cannot comment on the Hex-DS Bridge, I just use it for morphs.
Oh so that is what controls that feature... I see, thanks.
I saw your store sale last week btw. I recently got a similar set, the mega-pops pack... I think it's important to have a lot of props and primitives on hand for use in making all kinds of stuff.
Any idea why renaming the objects doesn't seem to "stick" for me, in Hexagon btw.
