Making ghost shader for Iray, front face

In 3DL, the great shader PWGhost lets you do a 'ghost effect' where you only render the 'front' surface of a figure. It's very cool.
Now while you can do funky things with fresnel and transparency in Iray, you still have back and front faces.
Anyone have a clue what I might poke at to create a similar effect in Iray?

Unless you can do it by use of Canvasses I don't think it would be possible - but it's fairly easy to composite two renders.
Yeah. I'm finding metallic flake effect does a decent job enhancing the facing surface over internal surfaces.
But I think you are right, Richard; I'm overthinking this. Render twice, composite makes waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay more sense and is easier.
