yes.
but it's a little too vague. What you want to do ?
You don't need to "import". DAZ reads mostly any common picture files (jpeg, tiff, png, bmp...) and some more exotic like exr.
You'll see than mostly ALL contents for DAZ/Poser already simply use jpeg (very often) or png for surfaces map (textures). You can tweak them, put your own, anything.
You can use any jpeg or png files for any map of a shader/surface (for example with iray shader: diffuse, base bump, glossy, emissive ) and save these settings as a Material Preset. (to quickly use it again on something else)
You can add your files in a folder of your own daz library (for exemple in a custom daz/poser library, you could make that folder hierarchy: Runtime/Textures/YourName/YourProject/YourTexture.png . The file will be useable for materials preset and still findable if you move your entire library)
If you want to put a custom background quickly, you can change Environment settings for your scene (Environment panel), configure a backdrop, set the path of your pic.
(again I advise to put your files in a nice folder inside a custom daz library, to be easy to find by Daz. It avoids automatically to make absolute path to files in your scene)
You could also create a big primitive, a plane for example, put it behind your scene, visible by your camera, put a shader on it, change the base color map for whatever you want picture file and voila: a quick solid backdrop.
There is many possibility in daz with jpeg and png images
Sounds like you might be better off rendering the flower, then putting in the baby fairy in photoshop.
how do you get your photo onto daz3d
What are you trying to do?
Open the Environment tab. Next to Type, select Backdrop. In the Background section, click the down arrow and select Browse to select the photo you want to load.
You were answering someone else's question, but I came across this thread today while searching for an answer to an issue I'm having. I used to do what you suggest above, but I just noticed today, since getting a new IMac running Catalina, that all my jog image files are now greyed out when I'm browsing them. I'm not able to select one as a background.
I know I can work around it by rendering without a background and then layering my render with the intended background image in PSE, but shouldn't I be able to select an image file for the background in DAZ?
do you have the latest DAZ studio?
apparently earlier versions don't support file in Catalina
