Too Crowded?

wanting to do a scene with more content that is easily acceptable for my system. Anyone know how to layer images to get a good multi character scene?

    Still image or animation ?

For still images you can render with a transparent background and then put them all together, if you can live with low resolution characters in the background you can always use loretta and lorenzo lorez, they work pretty well and don't use so much memory, you can also render out each character with a transparent background and then put them as a texture on a plane, then you can move them around and get a simple shadow from them also, works well if they are not to near the camera depending on where the light comes from.

Pose your characters and export them as static objects and load them into the scene, could help a little.

Keep as low resolution as possible on the characters you do use (Resolution Level=base).

The textures for the characters are usually hires, if you scale them down you can save a few hundred megs without much work, one 4000x4000 texture use almost 50 megs.
