Oldies you would like to see updated/made available for the newest generation characters

I would like to see scout for M3 made available. It is a nice male basic, I like the accessories, and the sleeveless look. the haversak also is useful. I own this for M3, but it could use an update with more details, such as the belt, and texture set and better buttons IT would be good for sci-fi renders, as well as for steampunk.

It would be a true genesis outfit, because both female/male genesis could wear it.

I'll second that -- hadn't considered it before but just got it last month.

I agree, and I think a similar discussion arose regarding conversions of sets like this from Gen 3 to Gen 4 (which never happened). Dagon and Dagonessa are others that spring to mind. All very well made sets—it's not as if these are the sort of crude, low-poly legacy items that really should be forgotten. I thought perhaps it was because the artists concerned were no longer active, but that doesn't seem always to be the case. Perhaps there are technical reasons, but it seems a shame—there is probably tons of stuff that people would like to see given a new life.

Personally I'm not very interested in seeing stuff I've already purchased converted to Genesis.
I think that is the problem - the effort it takes to convert something properly is not worth the money people will be prepared to pay for something they already have. I also wonder if its due to the fact that it could be quite boring - its not very creative to just refit something you've already created.

I think there is a big difference in a refit and a redo. I don't mind refits personally since a lot of items like skirts don't work properly through auto-fit and even though I know how to add bones and such I don't like to devote the time doing it. But I think refits should be cheaper obviously. There are other issues like rigidity that don't translate via auto-fit so there are advantages to refits. A refit would be the same mesh, just rerigged basically.

A redo would be to start from scratch, or to do major design work to an item. I'm also good with this. Especially if you are talking gen3 stuff, textures can be improved and perhaps the style can be updated to be more modern without discarding the original look and feel.

Problem is there is a lot of hate from the community if vendors do this, people constantly complain about the refits we do see in the store. It's occasionally even mentioned as a reason people leave the PC or daz al-together.

The refits/redos wouldn't be complained about if we had more original content being produced in the mix, even the "new" stuff that comes out looks way to similiar to other items. As a side note items in general need more tlc, more morphs to unbuckle, sway and such. Most dresses for Genesis I have are lazily done and follow the legs and don't have bones to move the front and back skirt independently . These extra bones/controls were pretty common for V4 dresses, but for some reason they don't do this anymore.

A lot of the clothing sold here is very simple as well, more intricate designs would be nice.

I do agree more attention to detail would be great. I don't know how many pants I have where they look like tights, as there is no waistband, no fly, and no seams. I only need 1 pair of pants like that. The outfits I like best have more detail, lots of layerable items, like pants, shirt, jacket, boots, pants which tuck in or out of boots etc. And pockets too!

I do think the STYLE of some of these old outfits is nice. I personally, have no issue with a redo or an update. I like when things look better, and 3d- to me is evolving, so the models and styles should too.

I'm also think that some old (Gen3 - and there mostly products or Aiko3 or David) products should be updated. In the opposite to the new SF products, the clothing for Aiko3 are mostly in the category "non nonsense" (I think especially on Sagittarian or Earth-Nomads).

In the new products SF (or Fantasy) seems to be equivalent with showing flesh. (Maybe in the opinion of the artists are the diseases in the future so bad, that everyone, who is not fighting, must demonstrate with this method, that he/she is not ill. :-) )

    with best regards
