reference image in scene background?

If I have a reference image for where I want to place my props and figures, is there a way to load it in the Daz Studio camera views?  For example, if I have a top view image with Xs for where to place trees and Os for where to place figures, can I load it in the top camera view?  Other directional cameras?  The persective view?

Easiest is to add a single polygon  primitive plane (or several), load an image and then rotate and scale them to your scene.

You can then easily hide them to check your results and throw them away when not needed.

It helps if you raise the floor one a little above the ground, set the opacity so you can see through it, then lock it so you don't accidently move it. I think (I haven't done this in a while) that you can still set it to not render or cast shadows, in case you forget to hide it when you click the render button.

Yes. You can disable "visible in render" in the parameters panel. It will be only visible in viewport to help you.
