Need eyes !

edited December 1969 in New Users

Hi,

I'm trying to set eyes into Mickael4 Skeleton.. In fact what I'd like is just the eyes in the orbits of the skeleton. This is for a short documentary I'm developing on the archaeological site of Pompeii in Italy. My guide in the movie is one of the victims of the eruption.
He will appear at first as the skeleton of his body with only his eyes visible, then progressively the body itself will fade in and the full guy
will appear and guide the viewer into the town and its remains.
If I use the combination of M4 and Skeleton4 even with the transparency at 75% I find the partial visibility of M4 annoying; I don't know if there is a way to have the contours M4's body completely faded out.
The easiest way would be just to adapt eyes to the skeleton but I have not found the solution to that as yet.
If anyone has an idea that would help me greatly.
I join here a first attempt I made which is not satisfactory obviously but gives a good idea of what I'm aiming to...

Thanks in advance!

Okay, the way I'm reading this is that you want only the eyes to be visible?

Are you using DAZ Studio? If you are, go to your scene tab, select every part save for M4's eyes, and shut off the Eye next to it. That is the simplest way I know of. I do not have M4 or the skeleton, but I'm assuming you have one conformed to the other (I think the skeleton was designed to be conformed to M4, but I'm not sure), so you can select the parts of M4 for posing using the same scene tab.

There will also be a similar method to do this in Poser... but it's been so long that I can't remember how it worked.

I would do this in Poser by simply turning the parts I didn't want off in the HE, but I am not sure if you can do anything similar in DS.

Chohole, HE being the Hirarchy Editor? Am I remembering that right?

Thanks to you both; I don't have have Poser and It's much too expensive fo me to buy it.

Yes Mickael 4 and the Skeleton are made one for the other; what I'm not sure is that you can delete part
of Mickael 4 body. I'll check and let you know.

You can't delete the parts but you sure can hide them. In the Scene Pane expand every single bone and use the Eye icon to hide all but the two eyes.

I have DAZ 4.5. I've tried what you say but it does not work. When you load M4 basic whatever you select in the upload menu does not change anything and the whole figure appears at the end.

I can't understand that the Anatomy set does not include ayes separately .

What do you mean by the upload menu? Could you list the steps you are going through in attempting to hide the eyes.

No I mean I unchecked in the powerloader of M4 the parts of the head I did not want but it had no effect on the final result. What Pete
suggested above worked very well although very fastidious to do.
What will be much more complicated is to make the whole body reappear by small bits but I think I know how I'll manage that with a blue screen in Avid Studio or Lightworks.

I have another question for which I have not found an answer and probably you have one. My aspect ratio in the layout is 4/3.
But my picture is not exactly at that aspect ratio and when I load it with the Background option it occupies a small part of the layout.
Is there a way to expand the background to the whole the surface? and How?

I'm pretty sure powerloader only works for Morphs, so it has no application to this problem

For your render issue: go to your render tab and at the "Dimensions" box, the first button is the Preset button. Select that and go to Active Viewport. You can reset the dimensions there and maintain the aspect ratio.
