I've tried mcjRibRender in Daz 4.7 and 4.8 Beta.
It works fine, except that it will only accept a render range from frame0.
So if I set the range to, say 50-150, it will always render from frame 0.
Any work-around?
Hello.
I try scripted 3Delight in Daz studio 4.8 055 pro and when my render target is Direct to file, Render to rib is ON,RIB path is ok i have an error message.
I just want mine to work period. When I tell it to render a 100 frame animation, I get... one tif.
3Delight is supposed to be for rendering animations, so their website says. I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong or if DAZ users are still being kicked in the face in 2020.

What exactly are your render settings?
Arrrgh. I am so used to getting an email telling me there's been a reply. Or a notice. Or... something. That hasn't happened in so long I rarely come here anymore, and I don't mean to blow people off.
Settings: render to rib of course. All boxes ticked (keep shadows, etc.) to avi.
The rib compilement goes through all the motions: going through every single frame. Black avi's are created and placed in my render folder.
But when I tell that rib to go, I get... one tiff.
I've been searching for days to see if there's something special I need to put into the commands, but no go.
Rendering with the standalone appears to be faster for my system. Sure I have 12 cores, but when I tell DAZ to render the movie (it's about 1 second long) 2 or 3 days later it'll get to the end... and crash. So I'm trying to tell the standalone to freaking GO already and do the whole timeline I set (about 200 frames), and at least I'll be able to do other things in DAZ (working on 2 projects at the same time) while it runs in the background.
Well, if Daz Studio crashes at the end render to an image sequence isntead - that way you won't lose anything if it crashes, other than the current frame if it'ss till working on one (it will also let you split the job up and render out a limited number of frames at a time).
I don't knoww hy the issue you are seeing is happening, though.
I didn't think not. Sadly, this situation has finally pushed me into installing Maya. I just can't take the broken programming anymore. LOL. But I'm still trying to get things to work. It just makes no sense how others were posting videos and I'm not getting one.
either with slightly older dazs or the new ones with the script to open a second instance .. combined with some thing like Shirase battle encoder to control cpu usaage you can have multiples open and have one rendeing while you work in another in eithre 3dl or iray.

I've never tried running two renders at the same time but should work because it would be a separate instance to the card.
when I'm rendering I'm often playing a video game or working in another daz or photoshop and render just goes on it's way in the background. so a second should to, just as long as total memory demand is less than what your card has.

I can render simultaneously in two DS instances with no problem, as long as one is a beta version. But if I run the 3DL standalone I get error messages that only one license can be used at a time, or something like that, when trying to start another render from inside DS.

New today ( February 17th 2015 )
it's for Daz Studio 4.5 and up
( DS1, 2, 3 versions may follow )
http://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/52804/
it renders the playrange as a series of RIBs ( i keep writing DIBs ! )
after each render, which produces a file named render.tiff
the script either copies it to a numbered-filename tiff file
or if you have imagemagick's convert utility, it converts it to a numbered-filename jpg or png etc etc etc etc file
by itself renderman pro only writes to tif?
Rendering with 3Delight standalone application - 404 :shut:
it mentions path tracing in the features, how would that work with rib files from DS?

"One tiff".
A single tiff file can have a huge layer-stack inside it.
