DSON does not work with all posers and platforms, CR2 does not include parameters in export

I am really having problems, I have installed DSON in windows on bootcamp where my DAZ studio is, with windows versions of poser 5, 2012, and poser 11 exist. I have poser 5 in because it contains stuff I have colletec from all the years since 2001, which was given to me by a freind when I was in hospital from a broken back, as something to do.

I mostly use the poser 11 and 2012 in my Mac partition, I even installed DAZ studio on my Mac partition to get this DSON to work (but uninstalled it because it was staking up space) when i discovered the DSON is STILL NOT WORKING. I am so frustrated with this that people can get this to work, and I cant in windows and in OSX.

So I thought I would design the character using Genesis 2 female , had problem accessing the morphs with the snart content since they dont load in there.. only in the parameter dials and export the character as a CR2 in my poser library. Everything looks fine, textures etc... but when you go to the parameter dials,.. you cant move mouth, eyes etc.. because they are missing...

This is so frustrating it is making me cry...

  • I wish DAZ would make a standalone program that exports/imports than a plugin that does not work

Ok, so you do have the newer Poser versions. Unfortunately, I'm not a MAC user, so I'm afraid I can't help here. DSON on the PC can be troublesome (but not impossible) to install. As for the MAC, I've no idea....

Maybe ask in the poser forum here, might get a little more attention from the poser users. Or at SmithMicro's Poser forum.

  • It does not seem to work by defualt with Poser 11 since the DAZ install Manager says this... and I am going to try with Poser 2012 in BOOTCAMP.. since I removed the OSX version...

    • Install Manager cannot find a required path. The package for "DSON Importer for Poser (Mac 64-bit)" requires that the installed path for "Poser Pro 2014, Pro 2012 (64-bit)" be defined. Make sure that a path for this application is present on the "Applications" page of the "Settings" dialog, then try again.
  • So I am having to remove the MAC DAZ Studio stuff again...

  • I thought Install Manager had been updated to support Poser 11, but if not simply tell DS that it's Poser Pro 2014 (or Poser 10, depending on which version of 11 you have).

  • I finally got it to work in 2012 on the PC , when updating the Poser 2012 on the PC, goimng to try the Mac next.. nope the manager refuses to install the plugin to be assigned to Poser 11

  • Have you tried telling it that the version is 2014?

  • How do I force it to believe it is 2014 ?

I deleted the entry... lied to the installer it was 2014 , but selected the Poser 11 app directory... and it works.. ^_^ yay, thank you. I am glad that this faffing about is over... and I can start working on my art project
