Attaching/fitting/merging

I am having trouble fitting/attaching the Lost Realms pieces to Genesis figures.

Specifically the tail to the figiure then the flukes to the tail. They don't seem to "stick" and then I can't edit them. I am attempting to make a scene with 2 Merfolk and I want to intertwine them.

But without being able to attach the parts solidly and then edit them the project is stalled.

Then there is getting this done and saved, .DUF, so I can pull them up to use for succeeding projects.

I do not see a Lost Realms for Genesis.  There are ones for some 3rd and 4th generation figures and for Genesis 2 Female.
