Converting Textures

I'm sorry for asking - I'm sure this has been asked more than once but I have searched these forums and cannot get the results I need.
Where can I find a tutorial on converting pre-existing textures from older content to Iray. I am specifically looking to covert Kibarreto's space ship textures to Iray. I love his space ships but he says has no intention of upgrading the textures to Iray but says there are tutorials for do it.
Can anybody please point me in the right direction?
Thanks.

Change the shader to Iray Uber and adjust settings, no need to alter textures.
Thanks for this. Could you please point me to tutorial on how to do that? I am not a DS expert by any means - yet.
Select the ship, go to the surfaces tab, select all surfces, then hold control on the keyboard and double click the uber shader. A pop up dialogue box should pop up, next to images setting, select ignore in the drop down menu. I have reorganized all my directories, so I really can't point out where the uber shader is lol.
Thank VERY MUCH TheKD! I shall attempt to try this out. ;-)
WOW! I did it! That's FANTASTIC TheKD!! And, surprisingly easy as well! Thanks a a bunch!!! You have really helped me!
Glad it worked out OK. You can also select specific material zones, and do the same process if you have any purchased iray shaders. Like if you have an iray rubber shader, you could use it for a tire the same way for example.
One small gotcha; in many cases, applying the Uber shader is only the start. Some material conversions will still need manual adjustment. If anything still looks weird after converting, post a query here and someoene should be able to walk you through a fix.
Also note that lighting is much more critical in Iray, you will probably need to re-learn how to do it from first principles.
Thanks for this SpottedKitty!
