Do you mean to pause the render and resume it later? Or do you mean to save an image of the render at that point?

If you're using iray, then cancel the render (don't close or save it!); with the render window still open, choose File -> Save Last Render; then resume the render.

So what is the "Save" button for?

I had to do a forum search to find this thread because I was sure I had done this before but assumed I had done so using the Save button. I tried hitting "Save" during the render and, even though I had specified the path and filename in my Render Settings, nothing was saved.

@marble, I have never understood why the "Save" button isn't greyed out during a render, like the "Resume" button is. I've tried using it, while the image was rendering, and I as far as I could tell, nothing happened. But it's possible it does something. I just never figured out what.

When the render has stopped, either because you stopped it manually or it's reached the Stop condition(s), You can save the render by clicking on the Save button. If you haven't named the image, however, nothing happens, as this function expects both the name of the file and the path to save to be in place first. And if you save the render using the Save button, it closes the window.

And if you like using the file menu to "Save last render…", just remember the "last render" doesn't include spot renders.

Thanks. I agree that the Save button should be either greyed or given an actual save function. I checked the usual temporary folders used by DAZ Studio but found nothing - I'm pretty sure it does nothing. Otherwise there should be an option to resume after Cancel/Save instead of automatically closing the window.
