New to this version downloaded but files not found

Hi All,

I have used this product a long time ago (2012).  I just downloaded and installed - twice.  I wonder if anyone can help.

I open up Daz and go to "Figures" but all icons have a "!" mark in a triangle.  It says the file is not found (I am looking for the genesis figure).  I look in the path given and the file is there but I can't open it in the program.  When I click on Options and Browse, it does not give me any prompt tht I can see.

Anyone info that could help me get started or point me in the right direction would be gretly appreciated!!!!!  Thank you!

  • Where is the content installed? Is that location set as a content diectory in Daz Studio? How ddi you install?

  • Hi.  I installed using install manager.  It seems to have installed the files in a path that has "public" in it but the program is looking in another path by default.  Is there a way to get it to point to the installed path for all content?  I think this may help.  Thank you!

When you have DS started press F2, then select the 'Content' tab and click on "Content Directory Manager" (all the way at the bottom). This will show you all directories which DS is using to look for contents. Daz Connect is Daz' new CRM design, Daz Studio formats are direcotires which store native DS contents and Poser formats are directories used for... Well, Poser format contents ;)

It is common to use 2 different directories per format (Daz & Poser). One will be the global (common) content library (this is also where all your purchased items are stored to) whereas the other is your personal library (this is where you save your own work).

Thank you very much for the kind help!  Much appreciated : )

I will give that a try and post back if it works (I.e., make the "!" In triangle for all figures and "file not found" message go away)

Seems I am not the only one having problems with this... have been reading the install thread and other related ones.  Experienced user advice is the best!
