Downloaded content shows but will not load

I am sure this has been discussed before but I have been unable to find a specific answer...
I just built a brand new computer (which is awesome), I copied my entire folder of content onto my new drive, set a new directory path in Daz, it shows the content in the folder however when I click on something such as a character it shows nothing and I am unable to load the character. All previous saved figures have lost the changes I have made.
Why would it show the folder and characters but be unable to load them or apply any mat overlays?
I have tried setting the directory over and over again to no avail.

There can be a few reasons; now there is a script somewhere, that might help, but I don't know where, or what it is called.
On the new computer, is the user name the same, namely, this one: C:\Users\YOUR_USER_NAME\AppData\Roaming\DAZ 3D; there are places, but if the user name is different, that is one issue to resolve.
Do you still have the old comp?
If so, you could try copying the various folders - like the one I linked to the new computer; back up what's on the new computer first though.
... Consider that if User name is different, it wont work.
Thank you for your input, this makes sense. I think I have found a solution to the problem which kind of aligns with what you said.
Although I had a runtime folder with content set up correctly, it would show the content I had directed it to but wouldn't load it. What I did was copy the newly crearted runtime folder from new Daz install, copied it onto my storage drive, then copied contents from old folder into the new one, and then redirected the directory path of course. It seems to be a workaround to the recognized username issue you pointed out.
This seems to have been the quickest and easiest fix I could think of and haven't been having problems since but I will update this thread if I do in case it may help any other users.
Thanks again.
