Alembic exporter doubt and Genesis 3 figure

Hi all,

I'm checking the Genesis 3 figure and after exporting via fbx I noticed the rigging is not fully translated to FBX such as the shoulders (dual quartenion I guess). I wonder if the alembic exporter would export the correct joint deformation for elbows etc or just the animation of these joints made in Daz3d. How the facial expressions could be carried over to 3dsmax in genesis3?

  • FBX should carry over the Dual Quaternion rigging, what it may not carry over is JCMs (morphs controlled by the values of a joint bend). Facail Expressions are bones and should carry over, but you may need to use the Bake to Transforms command (in Edit>Figure) first.

    Alembic is a vertex cache, it should give the exact result you see in DS - but it has no bones, so you can't adjust the posing easily in the destiantion applciation.
