Is there a way for me to position an OBJ file onto a figure and even resize it?

Also, I could of sworn I learned that all clothing for certain figures is in .CR2 or DSON format.  How do I conivert the OBJ file to CR2 or DSON format?

  • If you move/scale the OBJ, then hide everything else, export as OBJ, and reimport (using the same preset in the option dialogue for both import and export) that should allow you to freeze the location.

CR2 is for parametric rigging, or for weight-mapped rigging if going to Poser, DSON is for weight-mapped content, or for parametric if it is to be used only in DS. If you are rigging an add-on for a weight-mapped figure you can use the Transfer Utility; if you are rigging an add-on for a parametric rigged figure you can import the figure into the Figure Setup pane, import the OBJ, and use that to replace the original OBJ; otherwise you will have to import the OBJ into the Figure Set-up pane, arrange the hierarchy, and create a figure then rig with the Joint Editor tool and, for weight-mapped figures, the Geometry Editor and Node Weight Paint Brush tools.
