    https://wiki.blender.org/index.php/Dev:Ref/Release_Notes/2.78/Alembic

then maybe you can import ifile,, (though I can not confirm,,)

But I can not expect,  it can generate good material, as same as daz studio iray or 3delight.

I hope at least blender keep all material group, and textures which used in current scene for each mat.

about cycles (if you plan to render with cycles,) you may need to set up nodes from almost scratch.

Unfortunately, I have not seen documents or video , who import Alembic animation from daz to blender,

About HD, (if you seriously need the HD morph effect in blender), I say,,  you may better to wait reply from official team. I have got reply from support , who now going  to consult with the devs an this and will get back to me.

Usually it take long time for me,,,sad

"So, WOLF359, can you explain what product you used for exporting from DAZ and what settings you used? All the details are present in the export including HD morphs and textures? Thank you for any info you can provide.

    -d. Vyd"

Hi first you MUST own the FULL version of  Daz AniMate2
to activate MDD export from DS.
I simply Load and animate My figures in DS at whatever
    HD resolution I prefer.

I export them as .obj files with the "collect textures" option
    and the "Poser" scale setting.

If there is animation( Which I do mostly) I Export the MDD data from DS for each corresponding figure.

in Maxon C4D I have a special third party .obj  plugin
that gives me many import options not normaly available in C4D
    natively.

I use this to Load My .obj file from S and to load & Apply their matching MDD Data to render them animated in Cinema4D

Every figure in the video clip is an MDD animated Genesis  obj rendered in Maxon C4D.

The Cinema 4D built in OBJ importer is the worst piece of rubbish you can find (the rest of C4D is nice though), it can't even locate an image map specified with relative path like map/xxxx you have to fix them all manually after importing or change the file names to an absolute path in the MTL file for it to work.

Even worse is that the built in OBJ importer sometimes mess up the vertex order at import time so any point cache will go bonkers, so using some other plugin is a good idea I would say.

    Hi ,completely agree!!!!
I am using a very "old" version of C4D studio (R11.5)
with the highly useful "Riptide pro" plugin
It literally asks for the location of my .obj,s texture directory before import
and handles My MDD Data files from DS animate 2 flawlessly
there are scaling presets for poser modo, Zbrush etc.
Sadly,I am given to understand that Riptide is no longer supported in the newer versions of C4D Which is one of the **many ** reasons I will not ever upgrade to the current releases
    ..costs not withstanding.
