HairGen, no really a HairGen...

Seeing how we are all in love with faceGen, what about a hairgen?

I was cruising the store for deep-dish-discounts and came across this....

HairShop 1.0

Suprised this existed and seems to never have been updated or fully explored.

Sounds like an amazing idea.

Headshop looks like a beast to be honest.

If they update this for Genesis 3 etc....

The hair seems limited toa  few styles and I can't find anything about textures...

Looking for rendered images to see what the hair looks like at the end....

Or maybe it has to be "finished" in another program and that's it.

There seems to only be 1 video for this....

The actual hair for v4 had some nice mid length options, but never looked close to as good as a stand alone hair product.

Salon hair at renderosity had alot of options for Gen4 and I believe works with G2F; and they have a variety  of "Hair Salon" products you might check out.

I expect the rigging that goes in a new hair set would make dial in Hair a real challange.

I dunno. I seem to have finally found the idea that are different TYPES of hair.

There's a system where the hair itself has morphs. Like Bangs lower...fluffs tilted to the side. And the newest hair that I've purchased has morphs for wind.

A recent suit,...I think it's mob boss, has the same thing. Open, closed jacket....etc.....

And also more than three colors is a must for hair....

So at least the newer standalone hair products have some longevity built in.

I grabbed some discounted Gen 2 male hair and it looks fantastic.
And for once, the auto-fit worked. I even got an old dress to fit by tweaking the parameters to expand the front, tuck in the back.

Feels like a great thing when all works as it should.

I agree that PAs should include several hair textures with their product so that it is a stand alone product. I know that some hair modellers may not be very good at texturing and so ask a PA who is good at texturing to release a texture addon at, or shortly after, release. That's OK but adds to the cost (sometimes almost doubling it). I personally would prefer the modeller PA to join with the texturer PA to create a joint product. Having said that I should add that I find that this problem is less of an issue with DAZ3d PAs than at certain other sites.
