Will the Daz Install Manager work if I manually delete zips after installation?

I originally let the DIM keep installed zips on my drive, but now they're taking up a lot of space. I don't see a way to delete the zips using the DIM without uninstalling my files. Am I missing something that DIM can do? If I delete the files myself, will I create new problems with the DIM?

In case it's relevant: I'm on a Mac.

Two things - on the 'Install' tab, click on the box at the bottom 'delete packages once installed' and DIM will do just that. For content already installed, go to the 'Installed' tab, select some (or all) packages, and right-click. You can then select 'delete packages' and then you get the choice of the package you right-clicked on or 'all selected'. DIM will then delete these from your download folder. This does not uninstall, it just deletes the zips and the associated .dsx files.

ETA - DIM tracks what is installed by building a manifest file for each product - not sure where these hide on a Mac, on Windows they end up at C:/Users/Public/Public Documents/DAZ 3D/InstallManager/ManifestFiles by default.

    Success! Thank you!

For any Mac users reading this, the manifest files are under Users/Shared/DAZ 3D/InstallManager/ManifestFiles

  • That certainly helped Thank You.

  • This was super helpful to me just now. Thanks!

  • OMG... Thank You!

    Almost created thousands of duplicates.

Keep track of that "ManifestFiles" folder.
