What is the best (and most inexpensive to start with) way to make a genesis character look old?

(What product might I need?)

I need a character to look elderly.

Have you tried searching in the store for Genesis Old or similar? There were a lot made for V4 at one time, and the skins will work on Genesis, but you would need the GenX plugin to convert the morphs for Genesis I think

Aged for M4 and V4 will also work very well as long as you use the proper UV maps on Genesis.

Only the Textures the Morphs do not work on Genesis, I Dial my on shape for the Genesis figure.

If you have the money I say get them all though I reakon Zev0 morphs will make the M4 and V4 age morphs redundent. Zev0 has some old displacement maps planned too. So with something like Horatio or Callum you get good old skin texture maps and then add ZevO's morphs for the older morphs. When his displacement maps come out you will then have a good selection of aging effects.

That's my vote, too...Zev's pack + Horatio or Callum...

So basically there are two necessary elements:

1. A way to morph Genesis into an older person
2. A skin texture (ideally with displacement maps) that looks suitably aged.

For #1, I recommend the Zev0 product mentioned above, but the most inexpensive way would be to use the free DieTrying morph set: http://www.sharecg.com/v/58198/gallery/21/DAZ-Studio/DieTryings-182-V4-Morphs-for-Genesis It has a good aged morph for women that with some tweaking could probably be used for men, too. Another option would be the Hag shape in Creature Creator Bodies.

For #2, you could go with any of Phoenix1966's older characters (I own Stefan and Thomas, and I'm sure her others are good too), or Aged for V4 and M4, or other older-looking textures that appeal to you (perhaps 3D Celebrity Lola, or vyktohria's Nalfaar character from Renderosity.

For the image below, I used the V4 Aged texture with a mix of the DieTrying morphs, the Hag morph, and other morph dials to create the shape. I didn't own Zev0's Aging product at the time.

This is Genesis with Hand dialed settings for some Bought Genesis Morhps and the Aged for V4/M4 applied. It's a bit extreme but shows it can be done.
