3DELight do support DCI-P3, but if you can use it in the DS version is another question, have no idea about IRAY.
Do you need the full wider DCI-P3 gamut or would it be ok with sRGB color space converted to DCI-P3 ?
As far as I know DS use 8 bits per color channel internally so you can't go any higher, but I could be wrong there.
Not as far as I know, though I'm not sure what they are. By default it renders to an untagged 8-bit per channel image; using Iray canvasses you can create .exr files, usually in a linear colour space.
I do my compositing in Blackmagic Fusion and would like my renders to have a wide color gamut.
sRGB is a color space that was created for CRT computer monitors. For compositing and VFX work sRGB is not recommended.
ACES is the color management configuration which is the industry standard for VFX.
Then you probably want to use the .exr from a Beauty Pass canvas - enable Canvasses in the sub-tab in the Advanced tab of Render Settings, create a new Beauty Pass canvas by clicking the + button, turn off gamma correction, and when you save your render (as render.png say) a folder called Render_Canvasses will be created with the .exr file.
Thank you Richard. Will try that.
