Anyone ever used "Jepe's Jewels And Tears V4", and care to share their experience with it?

I'm seriously thinking of picking up "Jepe's Jewels And Tears V4", but before I do, I was wondering if anyone had used it and cared to comment about their experience with it. I can't find any reviews for it anywhere. Thanks...

Well, I went ahead and bought it. Now can someone tell me how I'm supposed to use it? It does some disturbing things to my characters poses, and makes their tongue and teeth disappear -- not really the look I was going for.

O.K., I emailed, Jepe and told him what I was experiencing, and he quickly shot me back a very in-depth response. Here it is, for anyone thinking of purchasing this item or having issues like I was:

"In DS 4.5 please do the following BEFORE applying any MATs form the Jewels and Tears folder:

Select your Genesis character in the scene tab, go to Menu "Create" and chose "New Geometry Shell" - a small pop up window appears in which you select now "Parent To Slected Item:" and click "Accept".

With this Geometry Shell now selected you can apply any of the Jewels and Tears MATs to it. There's also no need to apply any of the Utility Morph Poses, those are only for Poser users who don't have the Shell technology.

Please remember that the Jewels final look depends on Displacement and can only be seen after rendering or if you use the Spot Render tool.

If you select Genesis again you can apply any V4 texture you want and also give Genesis any shape you want, the shell will always follow.

Jewels and Tears and also all my other Body Jewels are supposed to work as a second layer above Genesis which wear the skin textures."

I haven't had a chance yet to try his suggestion (I'm in the middle of a render), but I'll update this thread once I do.

The V4/M4 Jewel sets worked the same. They come with a mini tut in the install that explains how to make them work properly.

I have the M4 version and my experience with it has been uniformly positive.

Mm -- this one didn't, or if it did, it's not apparent to me. Fortunately, Jepe was very quick and forth-coming about how to make it work. and I'm in the process of some test renders now. I wasn't able to find any reviews or advice about this product, so I started this thread for folks like me, who are considering purchase or who are having issues after purchase. I've definitely learned a couple of things in the process.

The original was something you had to apply to an M4 and then conform it to another M4. Being able to use it with Genesis and geometry shells is a clever application which I heartily applaud. Jepe is still awesome. :-)

Thanks for starting this thread. As someone who is fairly new myself, that easy to understand explanation definitely makes me want to buy this more.

HA! Figured it out! The product works fine in DS4.5P, and it looks great. Here's what you do:

    1. Select the character in your scene that you want to apply the MATs to.

    2. Create >> New Geometry Shell

NOTE: Jepe's instructions say a dialog box will pop up to parent the new shell to your figure, but DS did it for me automatically, with no prompting. Also, the new shell will come in with all of its component parts "Opacity Strength" (in the Surfaces tab) set to 50%, making your character look grey-tinged. What I found is that you have to change all of them back down to 0%, which will prevent the underlying texture from being obscured.

    3. Apply the selected MAT to the geometry shell.

That's it. Render and see how it looks.

Thank you so much for your quick and concise set of instructions! (I couldn't find the tutorial, either, and desperately wanted to use this set) The forums ability to continue to instruct and assist long after the original post is one of the great strengths of this site!
